Candlelight Processional Question

Howdy all!
Getting ready for my first Disney in December trip. I stumbled across information about the Candlelight Processional at Epcot and had some questions. Hoping for an expert to help me out!! My question is regarding the dinner package. We will be doing Animal Kingdom until it closes (5pm - Dec. 19) and then will scoot on over to Epcot. This means we will miss the first processional show and will only have two more chances. Should we do the dinner package to ensure a good seat? Do the shows "fill up" to the point that you can't get in? The information I found indicated that people wait for up to an hour before this show in order to get a good seat. Is it really worth it? What if we just show up right before the show starts and take our chances? Sorry for the twenty questions! Thanks in advance for your help!!

Yes, the Candlelight Processional is definitely worth it. My wife and I have seen it every year for quite some time now and it's become part of our holiday tradition. It's very inspirational and will fill you with Christmas spirit.

The Processional is very, very popular and if you really want to see it, I would recommend one of the dinner packages. The America's Garden Theatre fills up very quickly. You could always stand outside the theater and listen, but it's just not the same.

Here's a link to more Candlelight Processional information as well as last year's various dinner package options. You won't regret booking a dinner package!

I heartily encourage the dinner package to guarantee seating, but did NOT like the seats we were offered and should hvae moved. Marlee Matlin was the speaker of the night, and there was nothing but percussion between us and her.

If you choose not to do the CP package, poeple line up hours ahead of time to get in. It was amazing.

I definitely recommend that you do a dinner package. I have only gone to the 5pm show the last 4 years. Last year for Edward James Olmos I lined up at 2:30 for the 5pm show and already there were 50 people in front of me. I think it really depends on who the celebrity is,though. I lined up about 3:30 for James Avery and I was among the first 25 people on line.

The more I hear about this the more I want to go to it the weekend that I am there. But I"m already doing the LTT before MVMCP, and then we are going to do Chef Mickeys before we leave that Sunday. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and try for the Garden Grill (is that the one at Epcot?) meal too. That's alot of meals!!

Edit: Does anyone know when we can call and make a PS for this? I know they let you do this early for the MVMCP. Just wondering if they do the same thing for the Candlelight Processional.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the great information everyone! We have decided to do the dinner package.

Goofygal-
What is the LTT thing before MVMCP? I hadn't heard anything about it! Is it a special package? This is why I enjoy this site so much!! Tons of great information for the asking!!!

It's another Dinner Package deal for Mickey Very Mery Christmas Party. LTT is the Liberty Tree Tavren character meal. They are taking Priority Seating now if you *have* tickets for MVMCP. You can make a PS for dinner as early as 5pm, and be inside the park while they are clearing out all the guests that are not going to MVMCP. You can stay in the park until they offically open it to the rest of the MVMCP ticket holders around 7pm. (of course I don't think that much is open during that time, but you are *in* the park)

Normally to make a PS for inside the park, you have to wait until 60 days out to make the PS.

I just called and spoke w/a CM in dining (using the DIsney Club #). He seemed to know what i was talking about, but when looking said he saw no dates available yet. He didn't have any idea when it would be available, but he said try back the middle of August to check.

Thanks for the info! Would we have to have park admission to get in for the earlier PS? We have our MVMCP tickets, but we will not be in the park during the day. What is the cost and where could I find more information?

I am so excited about my first WDW Christmas!!

I will try to find a site that tells you more about this. I do know that as long as you have your MVMCP tickets and the PS number at the gate to the Magic Kingdom, you will be able to get into the park a few minutes before you PS(so make it as early as you can). You will not need tickets for the day at MK.

The price for the Liberty Tree Tavern I believe it
A - $20.99
C - $9.99

Last December, we walked right in about two minutes before it started. We didn't have the best seats, but they were fine. The show wasn't full. We ended up leaving, since we only had one day in the parks before our cruise, and I wasn't real interested in the presenter.

I have found the earlier shows are less popular, so if you want to go to the last one, I would go for the dinner package, since you will be guaranteed a seat.

Thanks Mickey. I'm not quite so sure I want to have a sit down meal PS 3 times in 3 days...not our thing. We'll try to make it to the early one and see what happens!
