Tower of Terror stumper questions!

Okay, here are a few questions to test your knowledge of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror:

How tall is the ToT and why is it exactly that height?
What are the names of the four "up" elevator shafts and the two "drop" shafts that cast members use when using the intercom?
In the lobby in the display case/message board by the "libraries" what two freaky phrases do the letters that fell off the board into the bottom spell?
Good luck!

OK, trying to stump me, eh?

This is off the top of my head, so I may be a liitle off:

1. 199 feet high

2. Four up elevators are name Alpha, Beta, Charlie and Delta, and the two down elevators are called Echo and Foxtrot

3. I believe it spells something like "evil tower u r doomed"

Close?

Wow!

"The words I want to say, I can't say... because there are preschool toys present" -Woody in Toy Story

Wow! That was lightning quick! And exactly right! (except, you didn't say why it's 199, but if you know Alpha, Beta, Charlie, Delta, Echo, and Foxtrot I'm sure you know it's because airplane warning lights are required at 200!)

I figured just about every Disney fanatic knows about the height and the messages, but I only knew of one person outside of WDW that knew the names of the towers. You have earned my respect as a answerer of trivia like things... Where'd you learn your stuff?

Okay, rematch:

What freaky thing happened to the ToT involving electricity before it opened? (it really happened)
Why was the drop sequence changed to drop from six inches higher a few years ago?
If Rock'n Roller Coaster and ToT were to launch and drop at the same time and there no actions were taken to prevent the impending "oopsie," what would happen to Disney Studios?
Why is ToT the peachish pink color that it is?
OK, last one tonight

1. It was struck by lightning, very similar to the scene in the movie.

2. I believe it was changed so that the picture that is taken of you will be taken as you are falling rather that at the top of the fall as it was before.

3. I don't quite understand the question.

4. I don't know this one, maybe someone else does. I would guess that it looks better at night?

OK, here is one for you:

What is room 259 and why is it named that?

Sorry!

Sorry, mickey. Here's what I mean:

WDI found a way to prevent this, but if ToT's two drop towers were to drop at the same time of a RnRC launch, what would fail and be noticed across the entire park?

Nope, not cause it looks better at night... Think more "central..."

Oh, and I did some checking, we were both wrong... The name of the "b" tower is Bravo, not beta... oops!

Oops, I knew that.

I knew that it was Bravo. It was the Alpha that threw me off. Disney spells it Alpha, whereas the military spells it Alfa. My fingers got typing faster than my brain was working. I will think about those two questions tonight.

OK, room 259 anyone?

Would the power go out in the park if both towers drop and rnrc goes off at the same time?

yay!

yes, the Disney MGM studios power grid would fail if all three things happen at the same time. But Imagineering built a power sub-station for just these two rides to prevent this from happening.

So, why is ToT the color it is? Is it the Center of your thoughts? I think this is a Showcase of good thinking...

It's an elevator

Tower of Terror is a simple, high-speed elevator, similar to what is used in the Sears Tower in Chicago, but three times as powerful. You actually "fall" faster that you would if gravity were the only force, since the elevatory is programmed to move faster than gravity. Does that answer your question?

ok guys

Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eth, Theta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda, Mu, Nu, Xi, Omicron, Pi, Rho, Sigma, Tau, Upsilon, Phi, Chi, Psi, and Omega would be Greek

Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Wiskey, X-ray, Yankee, and Zulu would be the correct code terms
If you wold like to know what all of the code means when it comes to using the coresponding signal flags I would be glad to tell you. :D

Here is the interesting part.

Notice the diffrence in the Alpha to Alfa.

Did Disney screw up when they named the shafts?

Well, actually they didn't

Upon opening, there were no name for the for the shafts, other than A, B, C, D, E and F. They were quickly renamed Alpha, Bravo, Delta, Charlie, Echo and Foxtrot. They initially went to those names as it was impossible to determine the difference between the letters on TOT's intercom system. It was known from the beginning that Alpha was spelled incorrectly, and was done so only because the bellhops figured that the shafts would be renamed quickly. But, the names stuck. So, it wasn't Disney Imagineers that named the shafts, it was the bellhops.

So, what should the names of the shafts be?

Seeing how nobody's answered...

Well, seeing as how nobody's answered the question about the color, I guess i'll give you the answer!

Go to EPCOT Center and stand at the entrance to World Showcase (that little bridge thingie behind Spaceship Earth or thereabouts) and look at the Morocco pavillion. You can see the Tower of Terror in the background. Now look at the color of the Moroccian architecture. It's the same color! It helps the tower to blend in and be less obtrusive.

Now do you see why I going to be an Imagineer one day? I want to work with people that think of stuff like that! :D
