park hours

Hello All

Can anybody tell me what (historically) the normal operating hours are in the parks in October?

If MNSSHP is happening in MK at night and MK is scheduled to have an early entry day that morning, does the EE happen? Sure hope CM's don't have to work an o/c (open to close shift) if it does.

Are EE days worth scheduling park attendance around? My guidebook says to avoid a park on it's EE day

I am actually having to figure out a what park/what day schedule in order to plan my PS's.

Thanks
Maybe someday I will be able to answer a question, not just ask them!

When we were there 4 years ago in Oct. it seems like they closed early, around 5 or 6 o'clock. :(

IMHO it is definitely worth going to EE at opening time. We were able to ride all the best stuff virtually walking on each. When the park opens to the public it does get extremely crowded. We would go to the EE park early, then park hop to another park when the crowds hit. It worked out great for us that way.

Thanks BuzzLightyear!

After checking out last year's hours and events for October, I have discovered that the spectro parade and fantasy in the sky fireworks were only offered on Saturday nights. So I guess that the quiet non- park evening i thought we would have on our arrival day will not happen. Gotta see the "light bulb" parade!

All of a sudden I feel that a week a WDW is not long enough, the shorter park hours make me feel rushed and I am only sitting at the computer!

I wouldn't put too much into what last year hours were. They will be similar but with all the cut backs and changes who knows when they will schedule parades & fireworks. I'm hoping that the Fairytale package will get park revenues up and they'll be able to get a more regular schedule for all us planning fanatics!

Oct hours?

Does anyone know roughly what the hours are in the month of Oct.? I know that they are shorter, but can't remember what they where, thinking about changeing our trip from June 15th to Oct. 17th, any suggestions on this, pros, cons?

its only my opinion but if you can change to oct. even if the hours are shorter it might be lots better then going in june.. we have went in june and between the heat and the crowds we didnt get as much done as we would have liked.. if there were any way we could go in oct I sure would.

I agree and we are going in October.

We went last September. Despite the shorter hours, the reduced crowds make for a great experience.

Go in October!!

Go for the switch! October will offer lower crowds and better temperatures!
MK & MGM will probably close at 7:00 most nights. MK will have some 6:00 closings due to MNSSHP. Epcot Future World will prob. close at 7:00 and World Showcase at 9:00. AK at 5:00. Park opening will most likely be 9AM. for all parks (WS at Epcot around 11:00) So, you'll have less park hours available but cooler temps. thus enabling you to stay for longer periods without rest. Also, there will be fewer fireworks & Spectromagic parade at MK.
Definatley worth the switch IMO!

Add one more to the October list!!

We go every year in October, it's one of my favorite times. Summer is too hot even for a resident, and all the florida families head toward the mouse once school lets out so they can take advantage of the resident discount.

The crowds seem lighter in the Fall. We will be there sept 28 -Oct 5 with our ears on:D

October used to be my favorite month to go - for all of the reasons mentioned above. The advantage of having shorter park hours - especially if you're staying in a nice resort or even visiting nearby family, is that you will have time to do that, without feeling rushed.
;)

It CAN get a little frustrating when you wanted to spend an evening in the park. Usually on the weekends, the parks are open longer, so figure in at least a Saturday into it somewhere.

Already planning a special b'day trip back this year, even though I was just there a month ago.
Too soon to go back? Nah? October is MONTHS away, isn't it?...
It is, isn't it?
