If you had one day left....

I wanted to ask all of you fine people a question that is very near and dear to our October trip. We are going with two of our DS (ages 9 and 7) and this will be our 4th year in a row!!!

We are going to WDW for 9 full days :D . The first 8 days we are in the fairytale package with UPH tickets. We are go, go, go people so we will be at some WDW park everyday!! The last full day we are on our own. My question is this:

Would you go to Universal IOA or a Disney park again??

I think IOA would be neat as it would be something new for us. However I am worried that my 7 year old (who I adore but is a bit of a chicken) will have nothing to do? I am also concerned about ending our trip in a non-WDW park which may not be as magical?

What would you do??:dazed

How about Seaworld it's really cool my DS (12, 9) loved it. We are doing the opposite of you Universal before our stay and then 8 days at disney. You might also consider the gulf beaches. St. Pete's is only about 1 10 mins away and there is so much to do there and it's beautiful.

I also think that your 7 year old would love Seaworld, however, I would go to Seaworld somewhere in the middle of you trip and use my very last day at a disney park. I am not sure if you can do that with the UPH. Do they expire are they only good for your length of stay? We always get the regular Park Hopper tickets so if we are going to do anything other than disney we do it sometime in the middle of our trip and then save our last day for another disney park.:D

Seaworld is a great suggestion. Thanks :D . The only problem is that we went there last year and we are trying to do something new.

Any thoughts on IOA?

Is your little one afraid of heights and roller coasters ? I am a deathly afraid of heights and wont do roller coasters ( did it when IOA was first opened and that was enough for me ) My husband does those rides all by himself if he wanted to go again the only things we did together more then once was the water rides spiderman and the cat in the hat ride

There's a lot more to Islands of Adventure than just roller coasters. Seuss Landing in particular is geared strictly for young children. But if you're worried about IOA being too intense for your young one, what about Universal Orlando's regular theme park? There's plenty of fun stuff to do there and your kids would probably love the new Shrek 4-D attraction. And you could always take a break and stroll around CityWalk, which is Universal's version of Downtown Disney.

I think your Universal idea is a good one and I wouldn't worry about ending your vacation at a non-Disney theme park. It'll be fun to compare your experiences.

i would go to a Disney park again. I don't have the same passion for other parks. Guess I'm loyal to Mickey.:)

Well, here's my opinion.... We try to get to DW 2 to 3 times a year. That's how much we enjoy it !!!:heart Sooo, a few years back we spent 9 days at DW, and spent the last two at Universal. Stayed at the Portofino Bay , which was a gorgeous Hotel. My family enjoyed it, but it's just not "DISNEY"!!
We did eat at NBA, & Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which was really nice. Of course, my DD's are all older, youngest is 25 years old. They did enjoy the coasters, and so did DH, but me I had to pass because of motionsickness. So, my opinion is I'd rather stay at DW, but Sea World is an option. My kids loved it when they were little. And I'm sure would still enjoy it. Well, Good Luck, and keep us informed!!! :) JOANN

I would do a Disney park again. I guess I am just too loyal to Disney. We just went for 8 days this summer and it wasn't enough, I needed a few more days.

I'd do a Disney park too. Go back and hit my favorite attractions. I'd have a nice dinner and then do one of the nighttime shows (Fantasmic, Spectromagic, etc.). I'd want to end with a Disney bang!!

I would do Disney for your last day. Maybe you can go to Universal another day during your trip? Islands of Adventure does have a lot of other rides and attractions, besides THRILL RIDES, but like Park Hopper said, why not consider Universal Studios (the park where you can RIDE THE MOVIES?) That is a good one.

But as for the last day, there's nothing like seeing the castle before you leave. It makes you miss it before you even get on the plane! That's OK, because you come home and start planning next year's trip!!! ;)

Seems like the overwhelming response is to "Do Disney" the last full day.:hmmm

Thanks for everyone's advice. I am still somewhat undecided however I am certainly leaning a certain way. ;)
