Sky Buckets MK

When MK had sky buckets, I used to tell people DO NOT RIDE THEM !

It was terrible to travel across the MAGIC Kingdom and look down on the Haunted Mansion, Small World etc and see warehouses behind them.

Talk about ruining the "magic" of the day. I don't want to think that I wasn't really riding through a Haunted House !!!

So glad they are gone. I am sure when newer visitors see the one station over by Peter Pan, they wonder what it is for !

ppe, you said it.

When I went on them in '93, it really brought you down with a bump, looking down onto the concrete roofs. Def. took away some of the magic at the time. I still look back on that holiday video (yes I have video of the ride, roofs included) I cringe.

Hooooo boy! Sorry for posting twice in a row, but I just remembered this one from our last trip...

Speaking of "See things you shouldn't"......

We were on the safari in AK, and had just gotten to the mandrill 'enclosure'. Our guide informed us how social these animals were and how they formed close-knit families, when out of the blue, this large make mandrill grabs one of the female ones and starts making some Disney Magic of their own...:o

Of course, much laughing and pointing, and a few "Mommy, what are they doing?" kind of questions from a couple of the kids. The CM guide gave up on his 'patter' and laughed as well, saying that "well, that's Mother Nature for you...it proves they're real anyway!" More laughter.

Driving swiftly on, we reached a couple of elephants, where the guide looked relieved and stated "We should be okay here...can't see any males around".

Well handled by the CM...friends still don't believe me til they see the video...:D

I too had an encounter on safari - only mine was of a more smelly nature. Nothing like an elephant relieving himself to get a group of kids laughing and giggling. The elephant poop was the highlight of the ride:D

I too have a video taken on the sky buckets. But, you know I never noticed "things I shouldn't" I guess back then when I was so much younger I was so caught up in the magic that I was in awe the whole way across!;)

My DW and I saw two Mickeys once. In the meeting area of Mickeys home, if you have been there, you'll notice that before entering Mickey's dressing room, there a small area you walk through with another door. Well when they escort a family or two through one door, they remove the star and put it on the other door...with another Mickey. This cuts down the wait time. The room filled up for us and they had us wait in this area, we saw them switch the door ornimate, Mickey's Star, as one door shut with Mickey, the other door opened....with Mickey. This was before we had our little ones, and we thought it was funny.:)
