Help me plan a Birthday Surprise! Pleeeeeeeeeze!

We will be celebrating my husband's birthday when we go to Disney.

For his gift, I wanted to do something special for him - doesn't have to be anything expensive, just something different - that I can do while we are at Disney.

The pixie thing looked interesting but a little too expensive. Also we are travelling with our 2yo so I want him to be included in things too.

Any ideas? Is there a way to get him into one of the parades or something maybe?

Whatever restaurant you may be going to that night, make sure when you check in at the podium that you mention that it's your husband's birthday,so the waiters will sing happy birthday to him.

I'd say the illumination cruise too. You don't have to book the big birthday cruise that 220 dollars you can books the basis 120 dollar one. Bring a bottle of wine (or non-alchol drinks for the little guy) and the Boardwalk bakery sells the cutest individual mickey cakes. Celebrate his happy birthday by watching the fireworks together.

Have an early dinner and tell them in advance and they will acknowledge the birthday.

Don't forget his birthday badge at the parks.

I booked GOAL, for my husbands birthday, and although it is costly, I am excited with the event they have planned.

I have also packed Birthday stuff that he doesn't know about. I plan on decorating the room while he makes a trip to the food court. I have banners, lights and streamers for the window. I have those clingy things for the bathroom mirror, and other birthday stuff for the room.

I was told you can order a cake from the bakery at DTD and they will deliver it to the room like any other package, but I haven't been able to verify this.

Sandanv1,

Do you mind if I ask what they have planned? I was looking into that, but the cost is holding me back.

You can PM me if you don't want to post this here.

Thanks!

Hey Sandanv! (I know, again!)

I just noticed that we will be going to WDW on the same day! Just over 3 weeks left! WaHoo!!!

And about the cake.....I spoke with 407-wdw-dine and they gave me the information about ordering a cake or other things for the room. I didn't write down the number at the time, but I know you can get the information from there if you call them. I think a small cake was like $10.

I highly recommend decorating the room and having a cake. My DH celebrated his b-day here at home last week. My DD (4 1/2) came up with the idea of making him a cake and decorating the house. We hung streamers up all over the kitchen, blew up balloons and then hid when we heard his car pull in the garage. When he opened the door we popped out and yelled surprise. My DH was really surprised and I think genuinely touched by the gesture. DD was so excited to plan the special "party" for Daddy and it was extremely inexpensive. I don't think my DH had balloons and streamers for his b-day since he was a little kid. It was fun! I think it is the little unexpected things that make a b-day special!
