Hotel key cards
Hi all, I have two question I have not seen adressed in these forums and wonder if any of you enthusiatics and well WDW traveller can help me. I just been once 15 years to WDW and for everything I found in my research and all the technology advances is like a going to a place I never been.
1) How do you carry your hotel key card within the theme parks? is there is a clip holder? a chain holder provided? do they sell something to carry them around? 2) My friends I am going to do not speak English, have you seen people using those transations devices they rent in the parks? Do you know where I can find more information about them? Is a little information I had found but do not explain much the process. Thank you in advance and I will looking forward for your responses. I am so ready for this trip. Starting September 11, I am going to the ASMovies with a fairytale package. I could not believe the price for 3 adults for 8 days 7 nights, just US1,315.00 thanks again, |

There is no special way to carry your key card. As your research has shown, it's the hotel room key, park ticket, and credit card all rolled into one. You could by a laynard(sp?) for it -- a thing you wear around your neck with a place to put the card in. Businesses have employees carry their employee id cards this way sometimes. Or just keep it in your wallet or pocket or camera case. But Disney does not specifically provide any way to carry the card around.
I don't know anything about the transalation devices, I'm afraid. I do know that when you go to guest services they have the park maps (which includes parade times and places to eat) in many different languages. The majority of the rides are really visual experiences, so if the translation doesn't work out it won't totally ruin the experience.

I don't do anything special with my hotel card/ticket. I usually keep mine in my pocket and have never had a problem with it getting lost. I often think about putting it in our backpack but we trade off carrying it and I would hate to not have it when DH and I split up to do different things. Sorry I can't help you with your second question.

Here is some information about the headsets:
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- To keep up with the demand and expectations of international guests, Walt Disney World Resort will introduce new lightweight language translation headsets beginning July 14. The headsets incorporate wireless technology that provides synchronized narration in five languages -- French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish -- for popular theme park attractions. Currently, more than one dozen attractions at Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios support the translation units, with future expansion to include Disney's Animal Kingdom and more than 30 attractions property-wide by fall 2003. Translation units are available at Guest Relations locations in each park at no charge but do require a refundable deposit. The service allows guests with limited English fluency to enjoy Disney attractions that feature a strong storytelling element. Oh, and welcome to DisneyCentral.

Thank you all for all your helpful information. And the warm welcome to this forum.
This is the info that I have about the unit translators as one of you already provided to me but also includes a picture of this devise in case someone has this question again in the future. http://goflorida.about.com/library/weekly/aa012102a.htm I just have two days to get as much information and tips as I can. I got subscribed to Tour Guide Mikehttp://tourguidemike.com/articles/ar...article_id=339 , very useful but I hate the way the website is set up as articles, you get lost so easy. But the information provided from this former VIP tour guide is priceless, I did my schedules and although I want to follow them in a relax and flexible way. Its nice knowing that I have a plan for the 8 days. After Disney World I booked a night in the Royal Pacific Resort, I found a rate of 115.00US just mentioning that I am member of the Entertainment guide and I can get an upgrade because I am member of the LowesFirst program. I am just doing this because I want to use the go in front of the lines for hotel guess in Universal Studios as I just have one day to see the park. After we are heading 3 days to Miami, in case anyone is interested I am using a promotion from Master Card with Starwood hotels (Sheraton, Sheraton Four Points for most of their hotels to stay three nights and pay 2 here is the link in case any one is interested includes few of their hotels in Orlando. http://www.starwood.com/promotions/p...moCode=X31STAR thanks again, |
