AK by Night?

I could only imagine how great Animal Kingdom would look at sunset. Does anyone know if there are or were any plans to keep the park open longer. Imagine Harambe, with all its character, illuminated in the evening.
Den:hmmm

Last year I went to the AK's AP'holder preview of the Chester and Hester section of Dinoland. The park did look pretty at night, but don't get me started on how badly Disney mismanaged the preview!!!!:D :D :D

The animals are taken off the AK savannahs at 5/6pm for dinner feedings, training sessions, and daily checkups. With the amount of work the carekeepers have to do with the animals once they are off the savannahs, I can't imagine how they could have later closings.

If you want to see the animals at night time take a ride over to the AKL. It is so neat how they have the savannahs light up with an artifical moon.
I couldnt believe how many nights we sat on the balcony for hours just watching the animals......

Yes, we have seen the animals over at AKL, and it is wonderful. I was just hoping to enjoy harambe in the evening. Have they broken ground on Expedition Everest yet. This sounds like the type of ride that made Disney famous.

I see no reason why the AK would not start staying open later and later in time. As Expedition Everest and the possible addition of Flik's Fun Fair come into effect, the AK could simply close off the trails and Safari Ride by 6 (sorta like EPCOT closing future world) and leave the rides and front half of the park open for rides and new night activities. They already have lights installed throughout the park, and with enough live animal alternatives I imagine the park will eventually become a full day visit like all the other Disney parks are now.

Ground breaking is well under way for Everest and the new bridge between Dinoland and Asia.
