Haunted Mansion Holiday in stereo!

Wow, wow, wow! (said Figment!)

I just came across the full ride audio from the 2003 Haunted Mansion Holiday (Nightmare Before Christmas) -- in stereo! I don't know how they got it, but it's clearly a copy from the original track itself --*not* a guest recording. It's so great! I won't be able to catch it in person, so this was such a treat! It's at: Disneyland Source's Haunted Mansion Holiday Page.

They also have the 2002 full ride, (although that one was recorded on the ride by a guest, so the sound quality is less than perfect, and you can hear other guests, etc.).

I thought this was just a gorgeous site in general, btw, and they have tons of great streaming/downloadable recordings from DL.

Enjoy!

This is so great! My DD and I kinda go overboard at Halloween around my house and have a nice little cemetary complete with witches, smoke machines, and errie lighting effects, not to mention lots of spiders and bats:). This will be the perfect sound track for it.

Many thanks,
-harry

Doesn't it though? Halloween's one holiday that I have an increasingly hard time connecting with as I grow older, and the Haunted Mansion ride and the Nightmare Before Christmas have been 2 things that really work to remind me of how great Halloween is. The Haunted Mansion Holiday seems like such a great melding of the two! I love it! :p

'Disneland love'

I went there once about 15 years ago, and compared to WDW, I was pretty underwhelmed (I remember thinking the giant parking lot out front with the highway next to it was a real buzzkill). Plus, the castle is so much smaller --I walked in expecting the soaring WDW castle view, and, well...

But I must say this Haunted Mansion Holiday has got me really interested! Plus, they seem to have added so much to the place since 15 years ago. I've been wondering if it's not worth making a trip to Disneyland after all. We're from the Northeast US (RI), so plane fare makes it a pricey 'test' --I think that's why we keep sticking to WDW, which we know and love.

Any thoughts? Actually, I think I'll make a new thread about this. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on the subject.

One thing I love about DL is that you can see Space Mountain from the street. It's still a wonderful experience. Does anyone know if they are going to start redoing the Mansion at WDW at all? It would be so nice if they did it there too.

I am so with you on that one!

roncss, right on!!! You're so welcome. Isn't that just the coolest? I still can't believe that it's so perfect, and in stereo. Where the heck did they get this thing?? I'm going to email them and ask!

Well, I just sent the folks at disneylandsource.com an email thanking them for making such a fantastic site, and asking them about how they got such a great audio track for HMH. Hopefully it's not too top-secret to tell! I sure am curious.

While poking around their site, I also found that they have a Live365 internet radio channel called Virtual-Disneyland Radio. It's so great! It's currently playing a stereo version of the Jungle Cruise. Cool-o-rama!!

Also, I just followed some of their links on over to Disney Forever's Disneyland Park Media Page, where there's a guest video (with sound) of the 2002 HMH (scroll down), as well as a bunch of other rides. Cool!

Here's the response:

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy our content. The HMH Holiday soundtrack is actually available for purchase at Disneyland on the "Holiday" album. This is the 2001 version of the soundtrack, and along with HMH, the album also features Believe In Holiday Magic and Illuminaria (DCA).

So I guess this is the old version of the ride audio, now defunct? Too bad! I like this one so much better than the one listed as the 2002 version.

DW is getting nervous hearing me humming: "Yo-Ho, Its a pirate's life for me". She thinks I'm losing it. With 70 days to go, she may be right.:dazed :dazed :dazed
