pregnant at WDW

I just found out that I am pregnant and I will be 13 weeks along when we go to WDW. It will be my second child and my husband and I are very excited.
I was wondering if any other mothers have any advice or if they know of any literature from WDW about being pregant in WDW.

Thanks :)

Congrats Tinkerbella... I went to MK for a day when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant in 2001. Lots of folks from DC have heard my gripes about being preggo in Dec with a sweater on the day after Christmas. It was terrible. At 13 weeks, I would say that it will be much easier on you. I wouldn't ride anything crazy like SM or TOT, but you should be able to enjoy many of the rides. If you are like me, that first trimester can be less than enjoyable. Just make sure you have plenty of liquids and crackers on hand....LOL!!!

Congrats on the big news....

I did Disney World when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. It was my first trip so I wanted to see EVERYTHING!! I was exhausted! Be sure to pace yourself and take time to rest. A full day on your feet really gets to you. By the last day, I wasn't feeling the baby move. It really scared me, but all turned out well. I was upset that I couln't ride any of the roller coasters. I did ride the safari, even though you aren't supposed to ride it pregnant. I just braced myself really well since it was sooo bumpy!

Congratulations!!

My very first Disney trip over 20 years ago was when I was 5 mo. pregnant. I loved every minute. Of course I had to avoid SM and other rougher rides but there was plenty I could do and my passion for DW began then! My doctor just told me we should stop the car about every 3 hours and let me get out for a while. Just be a little more careful and take it a little slower. Congratulations to you!!!:)

I do not have any children (much to my mothers disappointment). WDW is part of the reason why. I cannot imagine going to MGM and not being able to go on TOT and R'nRC. I acknowledge that this is selfish, but as one of my previous posts read.... "I have a problem," I am addicted to WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the majority that you should be just fine as long as you take frquent breaks, drink lots of fluids, and avoid all rides with warnings. You may also find it a good idea to by a set of good walkie talkies so you can split from your group for a little down time. You can also use the chicken exits in rides you wish to avoid if you want to stay in line with your family.

Just read over this again and noticed I failed to say congrats! Sorry about that my head has not been attached today. Must have something to do with all that Nyquil I've been taking.;)

Congrats tinkerbella!
Went to DL when I was expecting our third. I think I was just about 15 or 16 weeks. Aside from throwing up every 5 minutes it was a great trip.
Bring lots of water, lots of snacks, very comfy shoes and VERY comfy clothes. I always felt 9 months pregnant by 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I was very grateful for shorts with elastic waists and t-shirts one size larger.
I got an awesome tankini from Lands End. It was perfect since I didn't look pregnant...just looked like I had a big lunch. That swim suit was very flattering for that in between stage.;)
I do remember I did go on pretty many attractions. Of course I stayed away from the heavy hitters, but I am pretty sure I went on many that were okay for my 20 month old.
Take breaks and eat ice cream!!!! You will have a great trip!!!

First off, CONGRATULATIONS! That is wonderful! I went to Walt Disney World when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant and I was NOT a happy camper!!! :madmad It was the hottest summer in the world (Anne, this was in 2001 too!) and I had very, very bad back problems. I couldn't walk a lot without being in pain. I personally will not go back to WDW being THAT pregnant. I had to get a wheelchair most days just because I couldn't handle the walking!!! :dazed I still did rides that I wasn't supposed to ride, but I DIDN'T do anything like Space Mountain or anything like that. I did do Kongfrontation at Universal Studios, Spider Man at IOA, and many rides at WDW. But I was very pregnant then, at 15 weeks, you probably won't even be showing yet! You will be A LOT more comfortable than I was!!! Good luck and have a wonderful time! :D

Congrats Tikerbella!! What wonderful news for you. Deb's site wdig.com has tips for expecting mothers and so do most of the guide books, but I am certain that the gals here can give you the same tips. I had my daughter almost 10years (God I feel old)ago and I do not have any advice to give. I went into hiding for the first trimester and didn't emerge until I could actually hold a meal down..:D Just take it easy, remember your fluids and don't over do it. Definately tell you doctor that you are going and I'm sure he/she can give you a list of do's and don'ts.

CONGRATULATIONS! That is wonderful news. The ladies have once again done a great job covering the subject. Enjoy it! I like many had HORRIBLE morning sickness the first 3 months but I still would have went to WDW! Have a great time!

EDIT: let me add: This may seem gross but if you have morning sickness real bad DON"T eat ANYTHING that will taste bad coming back up! Meaning: stuff like Fruit Loops are just as sweet coming back up as they are going down. I know it is gross but believe me it help!

Thank you everyone for all your advice and kind words. I know that you really can't have a bad time in WDW so I am very excited. The first three months were the worst last time and look to be this time too. Thankfully I will be past all that by the time we go.
I am really just looking forward to my three year old enjoying herself. She is the biggest Halloween fan I know, she sleeps with a witch all year long and we even had one on our Christmas tree. She will be beside herself with all of the Halloween costumes, decorations and trick or treating with Mickey.

Thanks again.:) :)

Congratulations!

I went to WDW when I was 3 wks pregnant and again at 4 mos...and I enjoyed it both times. My suggestion would be to take a nap every day after lunch. We took the afternoon off both trips, and lounged around the room or the pool until dinner.

Hope you have a wonderful time!
