Fantasmic! Dinner Package

As my 90-windows grow closer, I am trying to nail down the few PS'S I feel I may need for my trip. (1/30 - 2/3) I am definately going for Cindy's for the sport of bagging a PS there (ok I love the princesses). My question is, is the Fanstasmic dinner package worth it? The idea of not waiting an hour to get in sounds awesome. I was going to try this last trip and didn't. Can anyone give me first hand information on this? I'm sorry for bombarding the boards here with new threads but, I just want to get it straight and make all my calls at once. (It costs a fortune to call Florida.:D ) Thanks for the help and the patience guys. Have I mentioned lately how much I missed this forum over the last year? I forgot how much fun it is. See what happens when you let your one addiction (work) take over? Now I have to get back to my other vice...Disney.:)

If this thread is placed in the wrong topic, I apologize. I wasn't sure if it was considered Theme Park or Dining.

Unless you want to eat at one of the places that has the package I would not think you would need the package to get in the show at that time of the year.

We were going to eat at Momma's anyway. Sara is dying to try the pizza. I didn't know what the crowd level was going to be for the show. Do they do that show every day in "value season" like other times of the year or do they limit it to select nights? I have never been to WDW in the winter. This is one of the reasons I was crying about not seeing the hours for January. It makes planning a little difficult. I just don't want to be stuck standing for an hour to get into a show. I hate waiting in line for an hour to do anything, hense the reason I started to go in off-times. Last time we did this show, we waitied over an hour to get in. Have you been to the world during the slow winter?

We haven't actually done it yet, but have our reservations for our Oct trip. I figure we've done it the "waiting in line" way, now I want to experience the other way. I also read somewhere that even getting out afterwards was a lot easier 'cause they let you out on that side which comes out really close to the park entrance! That in & of itself seems like a great bonus!

There will only be one show a night in value season. At 7 pm.

I think you might consider the wait. Now I am hearing mixed things about it. But I didnt want to take my chances. I have 3 kids and a mom with bad knee na a stinker husband that like to complain. So I cannot risk a 2 hour wait to get in. So I went ahead and booked the PS for Mamma Melroses.

Now I am leaving in 39 days ...I just made that ps 2 days ago and had a hard time getting a PS. So I would make a desicion soon. You can always cancel 48 hours ahead of time...Better safe than sorry.

If you absolutely don't want to wait on line to get in,then by all means book a fantasmic package. I personally don't think it's worth the price and I don't like where the seats are,but you have to do what's right for you.

Let me just this one last question about this package so I can make up my mind. Do you pay in advance or just give you CC# to reserve the table and get charged for a no-show? Meaning, you still pay for the meal on the day you eat. You CC# is just holding you spot right?

That is how we did it in May. We gave our Credit Card number when we made the ressie...but that credit card would have only been charged if we didn't show up with out cancelling. We just put it on our room charge after we ate dinner.

NONONO

No..... there is a fee. I JUST made my PS and the CM said you have till 48 hrs. Prior to cancel, but after that time there is a service fee of $10. pp

Yes, they did take my credit card number to hold that resevation.
It not like a regular Priority Seating anywhere else in the World where just your name holds your seating.

So $10 per person is the charge and it doesn't go toward the meal?:devil That's not right. I guess it's better than waiting in line though. Thanks for the information.

You only get charged the $10pp if you are a no show or don't cancel 48 hours in advance.

I believe Disneydana is right. DW did the Mama Melrose package last December, we gave our CC number when we did the PS, but paid only the price of the meal when we attended. MM's is about as far from Fantasmic as it could be, but after that much good food the walk was very appreciated. The reserved seats worked just as advertised. As has been noted on other threads, DO NOT SIT IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF ROWS; unless you want to. It does get a bit wet there. Hope this helps and that you enjoy the show. I thought it was one of the best thing WDW has done.:D :D :D :) :) :)
