Adventure Land late open
I was just reading an article on wdwig.com and Adventure Land will not open untill 10am on non-peak days. Wow! Another cut-back in the "world". Are they hurting that bad? Everytime I see another "cut-back" it just makes me sad. What is going on in our special little place? Is anyone else plagued by this sadness or is it just me?

I hope they don't do that!!! Taking away the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks from "every night" is bad enough! Since when are there not fireworks over the MK every night??? Makes me so sad.

Sorry Disney girl but, they are. Starting 9/28 according to wdwig.com. They have days that are considered nonpeak days listed for normal opening time for Adventure Land, but from now on it will open at 10am or an hour after opening. Jungle Cruise will open at 10am regardless of peak or nonpeak times. Go check it out on wdwig.com and make sure I read correctly. I know its a bummer.:devil :devil

We just got back from Disney and it is true that Adventure Land AND Frontier Land didn't open till 1 hour after park opening. And Jungle cruise didn't open till 10. We had done the rest of Magic Kingdom on Tuesday after going to the MGM early open hour and planned to do Adventure and Frontier Lands on the Magic Kingdom early open day, but when we got there at 8 those 2 lands were roped off. We were really dissappointed. Plus we could have used that extra hour of sleep :)

Guess our plan of going straight to Splash Mountain is out of the question....I can't believe they would delay opening of two of the most popular rides in the park.

I wouldn't worry about it. The crowds were slim this past week. Even after the 9:00 opening (on early open day) we went to Pirates of teh carribean and the Alladin ride before going to splash mountain and there wasn't a line at all. We walked straight to the boat and got in. Same thing with Space Mountain, Alian Encounter and most other rides at teh Magic Kingdom. Except for the Peter Pan ride, there was a 30 minute wait for that, but we used fast pass and walked right on.

It's not really the inconvenience to me that bothers me so much, it's like Dana said - what is happening with attendance. Last few times we were there the crowds were visibly down. Nice for us, but it seems just a little strange and kind of un-Disney like. What I don't understand is that they keep building the hotels. Sarasota Springs is going to be huge! As is Pop Century. Hope this means they're optimistic.

One of the nice things about Adventureland and Frontierland was that you could run right over there when the park opened and ride without a wait. Oh well.

Yesterday I went to Epcot and another thing I noticed that has gone down in quality is the appearance of the bathrooms. I was in the ladies room by the Electric Umbrella and it was so filthy I went right to one of the cashiers and complained and told her that there should be someone cleaning up in there right now. It really breaks my heart when I think of all the things that have gone down in quality in the past few years. But,I still love Disney and I will still go there.

It also produces a bit longer lines for Fantasyland. Unfornuatley, with little ones, we need to get there ASAP, so not to stand in line for Dumbo for an hour.
As we do all enjoy the less crowds, I feel the same about the quality. Last summer I saw an CM working in TOT, but she was not in the "theme" of the ride. She was wearing a white polo shirt with a Mickey Mouse on the pocket, working inside the actual hotel. Plus she was rude, about how we did parent swap...don't get me going! Anyways October seems to have filled many rooms, and with all their new production slated, I'm sure our special place will thrive once again! Den;)
