Soarin' Construction Crane Photos

As I posted a few days ago, construction has begun on WDW's new Soarin' attraction as evidenced by the boom of a construction crane that now looms behind the berm between Epcot's Imagination and Land pavilions. I was at the park again Monday and managed to snap a few photos. The photos were taken near dusk on an overcast day, but they're still decent.

Follow the link to the construction crane photos.

Two cast members I spoke with said Disney was taking some environmental heat because they had to mow down a bunch of old oak trees to clear the construction site. What price progress?

Thanks for the pix! Cool! I can't believe they've started construction on it already! Anyone know when it's supposed to open?

Sorry, Anne, but there aren't any other pictures from the trip. With WDW only a 30-minute drive from my house, I'm out there so often I don't even consider them "trips."

DW was out of town, so I just went to Epcot to have dinner and brought along the camera to snap a few pictures of the new construction to share with my Disney Central friends.

Sometime in 2005 is the only information so far about when it will open.

That would be so cool to live so close to DW to be able to make dinner reservations ...I am sure you guys get your money's worth for season passes! I certainly understand why living as close as 30 minutes from the parks wouldn't seem like a vacation. Do those of you that actually live close to DW stay on the property?
I think I would have a hard time staying at a hotel when I lived so close. I mean, even though we are talking about DW, I would still rather be in my own bed if I lived so close. (especially since we don't take advantage of early entry days)

The kids and I tease all the time at home when they ask "what's for dinner", I'll say "Let's go to Chef Mickey's tonight"!!!

That would be so awesome if that were actually a choice for us. You lucky duck...I am so jealous!!!:p
