Are hopper tickets transferable?

Sorry if my post is boring. I'm new here and haven't figured out all the do-hickey's yet.

I'm going to Disney in June with my WHOLE family. I'm not sure all of them will make it back for a second visit but we'd all like to have the same access and park hopper tickets make the most sense. I'm just not sure we'll use all the tickets, especially the older crowd. Customer service told me via email that all tickets are non-transferable. I see lots of tickets being sold on EBay though. What's the deal????

Thanks a bunch,
Jennifer

Jen, welcome to Disneycentral.com. Your question isn't boring at all, in fact, it hasn't been asked here before. First off, don't every buy any Disney tickets from ebay, or any other auction service, there is no way to verify remaining days left on a pass.

Technically, park hoppers are not transferable, but Disney currently doesn't have any way to check on who purchased them and who is currently using them. Annual Passes are different, you are required to scan your finger prints in each time through, and you can't get through using someone elses pass. Trust me, I tried once, albeit on accident. I grabbed my wife's ticket, and tried to go through, and they wouldn't let me.

As far as someone else in your family using the unused portions of a park hopper from someone else in your family, you shouldn't have a problem at all.

The way they do that is sorta creepy, yet cool at the same time. They actually are measuring the distances between landmarks on your two fingers (the ones you use to make a "peace" sign), such as the distance between your knuckles, fingernails, etc. It's nifty.

As for buying passes on eBay, you really have no way of knowing for sure how many days (if any!) are left on the pass until you get to Guest Services at WDW. While most people on eBay are honest, there are a few who will rip you off, so I'd steer clear of buying ParkHoppers on eBay.

And...
Welcome to Disneycentral, Jen!
