Fantasmic show
Has anyone ever made dinner reservations for the Fantasmic show and upon entering the reserved section found crowds so low that they chose to sit elsewhere?:) :)
Only 8 more days!! THANKS for all the input. We were going to do the H&V dinner anyway so this just ensures us a MUCH shorter wait for Fantasmic. This will make my 2 DD and DH very happy! Last edited by tammysbowman; 10-04-2003 at 07:43 PM. |

I've never did ther fantasmic dinner thing, but I noticed that the reserved seats are off to the side. During off-peak days there is no problem getting seats in the center which I believe are better. :D

I just came back from WDW and I did reservation. I am glad I did although supposly is low season with the Fairly tale package, the parks are a little busy. Yes the last two sections two of the auditorium are reserved for the dinner package guess. But the view is great, even if you sit in the center there is a big pol in the middle, an the reserve area is nothing blocking your view. People without dinner package lined up many for 2hrs so by the time we arrived to the theater through the VIP entrance behind the scenes 1/2hr before show the show started, the middle sections were packed but the reserved area was still very much empty. We just went and sit as further to the left end of the reserve area and you are kind of very close to the center of the theater.
I also recommend to sit from the middle row up if you do not want to get wet, there is lots of splashing of water during the show and if there is wind is even worst, plus you will have a more open view of the huge stage. The price for reserving the dinner package is the same as without it. But if you don't want to pay much, I recommend doing your reservation in Hollywood and Vine, the buffet is great and $19.99 for adults, and $9.99 for kids, its a great value here is the menu, great selection and quality of food, and lots of desserts, Have you had that feeling to jumping in McDonalds to the othe side of the counter and take a little bit of all the toppings for you sundae? well here you serve your own sundae and add any topping you like. The 50 or 60's theme of the restaurant is great and the CM is this restaurant are very friendly.http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_hvd.htm If your decide to have dinner here I recommend to book an early dinner, no later than 6pm as you will have enough time to have a relax dinner and then walk to the VIP entrance located just beside the entrance of the MGM and yes there is no way that you go through this door without the pass. The experience of going behind the scene in MGM is great, when we enterend we walk the long path by ourselfs and entering the theater from just beside the stage. People in the regular sections wanted to be seated in the reserved area were turned away. Plus because everyone is requested seated in the center, there is one more area just beside the reserve area to the left that is the last where the people are allow to seat, and if you like at any time you can move there. Just the fact that you don't need to be shoulder to shoulder waiting to enter the theater after a long hot day is great. The only problem is that after the show you have to do your exit with the rest of the 9,000 people at the same time. enjoy the show (was my favorite that I saw it twice in the same week) |

So is there reserved seating areas on both sides of the auditorium? My DW and I were leaving Fantasmic last year and noticed that the seating on the right (as you're facing the stage) had a clear view of the Swan'n'Dolphin, which if you've read our trip report are not to our tastes!
If there's seating on the left as well that would be better (for us).Incidentally, last Sep (2002) we arrived at Fantasmic about an hour before the show...I ended up choosing very front row, dead centre of the seats, so we had a perfect view (and thankfully didn't really get wet at all). I set up the digivideo on my tripod, and ended up with a perfect quality beginning-to-end taping of the show....;) CM

No, the reserved area for dinner packages guess is at the right of the auditorium. CMs ensure the people sit from the center to the sides. That's the reason you saw empty the sides but if you noticed people start siting in the reserve area to the right no more than hr prior the show.
