Epcot Question

I have a picture taken just after getting off Test Track. In the background you can see SSE (you can read the Epcot with the magic wand that is on SSE), I think part of a monorail support post and two HUGE satellite dishes. Sorry I can't post the picture. My question is, what are the satellite dishes from? I can't imagine them being for actual WDW communications use, wouldn't they keep those hidden? Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I totally losing it?:dazed

I think I know the area you're talking about...I have memories of (some?) squirrel feeder nearby, or a birdhouse or something. Are they set back, within some rose gardens?

I suspect they are for WDW communications or something, there's certainly no theming planned for them that I can remember...

I don't see any rose gardens around. I actually am wondering if this is after exiting Universe of Energy. I say that because the picture is looking back into Epcot and I can see the Innovations building. You know, I am just going to have to go back and find this spot. It is really bugging me now as to where this was taken. Maybe the dishes are for WDW communications. It just seems weird to have them out in the open like that.

BTW Cowboy Mickey, cool avatar!!

I'm sure I have a similar photo myself from '99, so I don't think they're new. Possibly they're used for direct, private comms to the West coast via satellite, who knows...:hmmm

And thanks about the avatar, it's amazing what you end up doing during a boring lunch hour!;)
