Wide World of Sports
Ok I am new to the whole WDW, and I am a huge fan of sports, so I want to know from anyone who knows anything....what is there at WDW wide world of sports? I have read about Richary Petty Driving experience, and I definitely have that penciled in, but what else is there? I would appreciate all that you know!! :D Even the smallest bit is more than I know, for sure...BTW, I had NO idea where to post this, so I posted it here!
Thanks a million,-Ryan

The WWOS is a huge complex of playing fields for various athletic competitions. They do have the NFL experience there for guests to do. Unless you are going there to watch a game or competition, I don't feel there is much to do there.

From what I understand, the NFL Experience is an interactive area where you can throw a football, etc.
Here is some info on the WWOS: Deb Will's site |

Aside from WWoS, there is lots of Extra Activities at WDW. There are plenty of World Class Golf Courses, Fishing, Boating, Parasailing, Putt Putt, Horseback Riding, Jogging/Walking trails, snorkeling, scuba diving, and surfing. Maybe some other things I am forgettting. You can almost find anything you want to do at WDW in some form or another. :D
Oh, and there is the ESPN Zone at the Boardwalk.

We had planned on going there on our Oct. trip but it was not open at all to the public. I think the Orlando Magic was there but no one could watch and evidently there was nothing else going on. :dazed

Dznygrl's-Guy....Ryan,
I get a Disney newsletter (actually three) that had a review from a (I think) a teenage boy about the WWoS. It sounded like to me that he didn't have much fun. I've never been there and my boys want to go this April. I read the review to them and now they really don't seem interested. I can e-mail you the review if you want, just PM me with your address. The "boy" in the review had bad weather when he went that could have been part of the problem. He has a good descpiption of the lay-out of the complex. :) Jennifer

disneyjenny, I read the same review and decided it didnt sound as much fun as I was hoping it was. I guess if you are there anyway, then give the nfl experience a try. Other than that though, it does not sound like it is worth going to the complex just for that. My two DS's have decided to pass on it too. Ryan, when you go, check
at the ESPN club to see if there are any sports celebrities there. When we were there, Peerless Price was being interviewed. My 12 yo DS got to ask him a question, (we got a pic of his face on the big screen!) and after the interview both my DS's were able to get his autograph. That was the highlight of the trip for my two sports fanatics!
