Stitch's Great Escape Update

Just received my DVC Community News and they have previewed the Stitch attraction that replaces "Alien Encounter". It appears that "Skippy" from Alien Encounter will have a surprise role and finds himself in a "sticky" situation. (That's their description)!

i am really looking forward to this stitch attraction. i enjoyed AE but don't think i would visit it again cause i'm not a fan of scary things. how ironic is that that i don't like scary things but i'll go on TOT in a heartbeat. does anyone have an idea what's the story line to stitch's great escape yet? and also, when will it be open to the public?

It should open in late 2004. Here is what the article in the DVC News says: "It's humorous, it's gross, it's all of those things without being scary, as much as it's filled with lots of suprises..."Our story takes place three months prior to the beginning of the movie. It's basically a prequel about the Federation's initial attempt to capture and hold Experiment 626 (Stitch) while they try to figure out what to do with him." True to his nature, Stitch wreaks havoc and makes his "great escape" to the delight of Guests caught in the middle of the fun."

This new attraction has got my attention and I will have to plan a quick return to WDW after my upcoming trip in oder to see it first hand. I'll probally wait for the rollercoaster at AK to go though so I have two new attracitons to see.

i just hope this attraction will be open before september of 2004. rob is a big fan of stitch and i know he would love to check this out. stitch's great escape does sound very interesting. i can't wait to see it. thanks for the info.

Skippy is still with us!!!! Cool Beans! Of all the less recognizable characters I love Skippy the best. I could relate to him. As I am a government worker I see first hand the strange perdictaments that a person can get themselves into. (Like volunteering to be a transporter dummy.) I have a large plush toy of Skippy on my bed. Well I will definatly be looking for him in 2006 when we make our return.

I am going to miss AE:devil but without change people would stop going.:D and as much as I love Disney, I would hate that.....

I think its really cool that DIsney decided to incorporate Skippy into a part of the new ride. I will miss Alien Encounter, but leting skippy have a cameo in the new ride is just really cool for them to do! Long live skippy! lol
