I completely agree with you however when they use them as battering rams thats another story, or when they give CM's a hard time about taking them in the line with them, or give a bus driver a hard time about folding them on the bus, etc... I completely agree with you a stroller used correctly is great. however they don't work as battering rams

Strollers are a fact of babies and little kids but "in my day..." strollers were lightweight folding 'umbrella' type. Nowadays, they're HUGE. They convert into a highchair, a swing, a boat, a spacecraft etc. They have place to stash 3 bags of groceries and 2 cupholders (a tall latte and an imported water). No wonder the parents think they have to have a battleship size SUV to haul 'em. 'Young' guys I work with stand around the water cooler and discuss strollers like they're sports cars. "We went with the Bugaboo with the pleather upholstery and the extended warranty..."

well I have been on the recieving end too, I sure want to believe that no one really uses strollers as battering rams ...but then I want to believe that there really is a neverland *grin* your right ..its awful when people mis-use the strollers.

:laugh :laugh :laugh :laugh This post has made my day. Your stroller description is HYSTERICAL!! Thanks for a much needed laugh. However, I used a WDW stroller (jogger one) until she was 6. I was not losing my DD in the masive crowds. I can totally relate to the "battle ram" therory and my ankles have the scars to prove it......just smile and say "excuse me". Those battle rams are hard to steer in crowds and 80% of the time it's an accident...the other 20% well....that's under the pet peeves thread.:laugh

Is it just me, or does anyone else wish the Disney Strollers were smaller..I'm just not fond of a double wide stroller hitting the back of my legs over and over and over....when we were at Magic Kingdom, they were taping spectromagic and it took 3 cast members to clear enough room for a big ol' double stroller...is there a really big advantage to having them side by side...I'm just 15, so I wouldn't know....

Not being a mother yet, I cannot relate to the whole stroller pusher thing. I have in the past and still to this day, after many trips in peak and off-peak times, vow to not be a stroller-pushing mom at WDW. Okay, maybe in a very off-peak time, I will take a stroller, but certainly not in the dead heat of August. I, however, ill not use the stroller as a weapon. I have been on the recieving end of the stroller abuse and did not enjoy it one bit.:hmmm I used to vow that I would not take a trip to WDW if my kids were still in the stroller stage, but I don't think that I will be able to wait that long between trips. :p

The only advantage (or maybe it is a disadvantage) I see to have a side-by-side stroller is that the kids can play together while they are being pushed from one ride to another. I kind of see this as a disadvantage in that it would be more time for that sibling rivalry to come and and the potential for more "Mommy, he hit me!" "But she hit me first!" scenarios. However, the side-by-side also has its up-side: There is no "But I want to ride in front!" as in the tandem strollers. I think one of the reasons that Disney went with the side-by-side stroller is to cater to the laziness of some children and the parents who refuse to deal with them. I only say this because I see parents with 8 year olds more or less folded up in strollers with their 4 year old sibling. Tandem strollers do not provide sufficient leg room for this kind of situation. By 8, a child should be able to walk around the park and not need to be pushed in a stroller. Okay, so now I am done ranting and raving about the whole stroller issue. I am not completely against strollers, just when they are being abused.

Wow, did we get off topic or what! I just have one more comment, not about strollers, but about fast passes. I think they are great and I stand around and wonder why more people don't utilize them. It is true that you can get another one before you use the one that you have. If you wait until the first time on the FP that you have, you can go and get another one for another ride or even the same ride. It may only shave off 5 minutes of your return time, but in the end, it makes you feel like you have somehow figured things out and made the best of your line waiting time.
