Seasonal Rides

I read somewhere that some of the rides (not meaning the ones in the water parks) close for the "winter" season. Anyone know which ones do and when they open and close for the season? We are trying to plan a Oct. trip for @3 weeks and want to make sure most things are going to be open in MK, AK, MGM and Ep.

Thanks, Mark

Time Keeper and C.O.P in MK are seasonal rides that are open now due to Alien Encounter being revamped and changed into a Stitch attraction, In AK, I beleive everything but some of the food carts and places to eat are open, in Epcot, there is a total section that is now only "seasonal" and I can't for the life of me remember which one. There will be at least one water park open during your stay and as for attractions that may or not be down due to maintance or "rehabbing", you won't know until closer to your vacation. Someone will come along soon and tell you which Epcot section. I just can't remember this morning..too early for me.

Epcot's Wonders of Life pavilion has been turned into a seasonal operation.

I wouldn't worry too much about rides being down in October. October has turned into a fairly busy month.

A very very small amount of rides are seasonal, you should not miss much or even notice the lack of attractions. As stated.. Wonders of Life is currently the only area not open for the season. Next October, Carousel of Progress and Timekeeper may return to seasonal status, but maybe not.. if Stitch keeps Tomorrowland busy enough.

And of course, Rehabs on rides tend to happen more in the off season... but that seems to be more around Jan. or Feb.

Thank you all.

The Carousel of Progress is the one my DW loves, we may change our vacation around it, depending when they start the "winter" season and shut it down.

Although there are some issues with certain rides/attractions being seasonal, I believe that they are usually some of the rides that can be missed and there isn't a major problem. I think the bigger issue is the rehab schedule. There are several rides, some can't miss rides, that are being rehabbed during off season times that more people complain about. I know that Disney needs to do this periodically but it still is an issue to some of us. It's hard to schedule vacations around rehab schedules.

don't be fooled about dining in AK being easy during the "winter season" on my last trip to AK(February 2001...so you know they have closed even more things) it has sooooooo hard to find some place to eat. Everything was closed. On the maps you could not tell what was open and what was closed. After 30 minutes we finally found someone. Also, Timekeeper and Carousel of Progress are open right now because of Alien Encounter being closed. Hope this is helpful and that you haven't made any changes that have cost you money.
