Hate to ask, but......

I know if I dug deep enough, I could probably find the answer to this question, but I thought I would post and maybe someone would know. I am wanting to get some good pics at night w/ no crowds. How late do the buses run? I don't want to get stuck! We are staying at POR. Any other tips on sneaking in some late pics/fun at the parks?

The buses usually run till about 2 hours after that paticular park closes. Do not quote me on this...things can change. The best suggestions I have for you is to ask a Cast Member at the park you are at what time the buses stop running. You will never get stuck...they have taxis available. As for the pictures, I'm certain someone else will have advice on that.

If you do miss your bus back to POR just go to the closest resort hotel (MK Contemporary, Epcot Beach Club, MGM Boardwalk, AK AKL and hop the bus to DTD and them catch the bus or boat back to POR. I have never heard of anyone left behind. They make a sweep of the park about hour after closing and push everyone out. Then it two hous after that the buses stop running. We been in there almost two hours after it closed and the buses were still running and they were quite full.

Try staying for the E night at MK. After the regular crowds leave, some good night pics with small crowds can be obtained.

As of November 2004 when I was there busses run 2 hours aft the parks close.

What type of pics at night are you trying to get? I have some of the MK with the fireworks I can post. I am a sports photographer for a local paper and the pics came out ok, but lighting was bad, I was taking pics of the fireworks over the castle. Just make sure you have enough light when you take your pics.

Have Fun!!!!

I have not tried this myself but..... After IllumiNations might be a good time to get some pics of the World Showcase since nothing is open afterwards and everyone is trying to get out of there

I've tested this theory at MK and at Epcot with great success. :D We LOVE staying in Epcot after Illuminations and strolling to the front, stopping for pics all over the place. One of my favorite memories is getting caught in downpours there (start stop start again) and standing next to the Fountain of Nations and watching the show in the deserted park. It was heavenly.

If you stay in the MK, an hour after the park closes, Jiminy Cricket comes back on to thank all the Cast Members and late guests for being so special, and to go forth and make your dreams come true. There is a mini-light show on the Castle as he speaks - it's really touching. It's called the 'Goodnight Kiss.' (before October, we thought the GNK was the slowly changing colors on the Castle. That is just such a small part of it)

Mickey Mania - have you ever shot the fireworks digitally? Works fabulously, especially on rapid fire mode.

the 2 hour rule is what they tell you the busses will run till the park is cleared by security. if the park is clear after 1 hour 45 mins they stop then, if it takes 3 hours well then they take 3 hours after before they stop. if you do miss your bus and you are staying on wdw property security will get you back somehow but I recomend being there before the 2 hours is up and confirm they are running 2 hours after closing with a bus driver and only a bus driver

Do the buses run from resort to resort all night? I figure with PI being opened late they must run pretty late. Anyone know?

Busses do not run any resort to resort busses. I do know that sometimes they may but this is rare. You usually have to connect at a theme park.

The resort buses taking you to PI and DTD should run until after PI is closed down for the night just like at the parks. You won't get stuck without transportation....just make sure to ask at your resort or ask the bus driver who drops you off when you go when the latest bus is.

BE CAREFUL with this! At the M&G, and our BIG night out at Pleasure Island, we were there after closing just taking our sweet time getting out of there...and as we were leaving the turnstyles at PI, the last bus to POP CENTURY was pulling up...everyone had to HAUL BUTT or they would have missed that last bus and would have had to take a cab...like I did to my resort! LOL................:D

on a side note--one time we were waiting for our ride(this was many many years ago) after the park closed, everyone (and i mean everyone) left, and we were the only ones left in the parking lot. Security guards kept coming by to check on us, and eventually our ride got there (it was my grandfather and he had taken a short cut and gotten lost). My point is, even if you were left there, security is there watching over you.

ps
you would not believe the stuff people leave in that parking lot! cameras, car seats, money. . .
