Welcome to DisneyCentral! While Disney doesn't announce attendance on a daily, monthly or annual basis, there are some reports as to attendance, most of it an educated guess, but usually right on.

For the year of 2001:

Attendance at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, the busiest theme park in the US was down 4 percent to 14.7 million.

EPCOT coming off a record year with the Millennium Celebration had the largest decline of all Disney parks. Attendance at Walt Disney World's EPCOT park fell to 9 million, a decrease of 15 percent.

Top 20 US Amusement Parks based on 2001 Attendance

- Magic Kingdom, Orlando -- 14.7 million, down 4%
- Disneyland, Anaheim, CA -- 12.3 million, down 11%
- EPCOT, Orlando -- 9 million, down 15%
- Disney-MGM Studios, Orlando -- 8.3 million, down 6%
- Disney's Animal Kingdom, Orlando -- 7.7 million, down 7%
- Universal Studios Orlando -- 7.2 million, down 10%
- Universal's Islands of Adventure, Orlando -- 5.5 million, down 8%
- SeaWorld Orlando -- 5.1 million, down 2%
- Disney's California Adventure, Anaheim, CA -- 5 million
- Universal Studios Hollywood -- 4.7 million, down 9%
- Busch Gardens Tampa, Tampa Bay, FL -- 4.6 million, down 8%
- SeaWorld California, San Diego, CA -- 4.1 million, up 13%
- Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park, CA -- 3.58 million, down 3%
- Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, NJ -- 3.56 million, up 1.7%
- Morey's Piers, Wildwood, NJ -- 3.4 million, up 3%
- Adventuredome, Las Vegas, NV -- 3.4 million, up 7%
- Paramount's Kings Island, Cincinnati, OH -- 3.36 million, up 4%
- Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, CA -- 3.2 million, down 3%
- Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH -- 3.1 million, down 9%
- Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Santa Cruz, CA -- 3 million, n/c

I hope that helps, since it is all that I could find. I guess that you can extrapolate from that into monthly and daily figures. It is ineresting, I get just over 40,000 per day at the MK. It is widely understood that the parks have a 50,000 person limit, so it looks like there are a quite a few days where MK is at capacity.

Intersting note:
As you go down that list all of the parks are open year-round until you get to 6 Flags Great Adventure. Most of the parks below it are year-round too. But look at it like this. The two parks in Ohio are only open 6 months a year. If they were in a location where they could be open year round their attendance would be double.

Sorry, I'm from Ohio and I love our coasters. ;)

I hear your Michael...I'm from Ohio too and believe that for a pure amusement park, Cedar Point is #1, and Kings Island of course has The Beast!

attendance

I certainly do not know daily, monthly, or annual attendance figures, but I'm gessing thaey are low right now. I've been to all 4 of the main parks this week and the longest line has been about a 30 minute wait! It's been truly wonderful - I expected hours of standing. I went to EPCOT on Sunday and again this morning. Today, my longest wait was about 5 minutes, though I skipped the the Spaceship Earth and used FastPass for Test track. I'm in a large group and we've been switching off because of a 2year-old in tow, so we get to ride some rides twice in as little as 15 minutes.
Is there a reason attendance may be down?

Tiedye for fun!

We are going to King's Island next month for the first time! I AM A SPONGE ~ GIVE ME INFO PLEASE!

We are season's passes to Paramount Canada's Wonderland and they are portable, so we'll do 3 days at PKI using the passes!

We booked a hotel nearby for 3 nights!

We are driving 10 hours from Ontario. We are looking at this as our TEST drive. It's under half way the drive to WDW. We usually fly to WDW, but we are thinking about driving next trip.

THANKS! S

Hi tiedye & welcome. I sure don't know why attendance would be low now. We were there the last week-and-a-half in March & it sure wasn't low then. Maybe you just lucked out!!!!

Seeyou....
I've been to Cedar Point way more than Kings Island, but I can give you a little info on Kings Island though. I'm a thrill ride person, so I can only add insight to the coaster-type rides.
Must rides:
1- The Beast: This is still (I believe) the world longest wooden roller-coaster and it rocks! It swerves into tunnels complete with mist and is still one of the best coasters I've ever been on.
2-Son of Beast: This a faster wooden coaster with loops...it's a great ride, but I still prefer The Beast.
3- Face/Off: A cool inverted coaster
4- Top Gun is another steel coaster, but I don't think it's that fast
5-Drop Zone (A cool drop ride that is over 300 ft I believe)
6-Vortex: A cool rides with at least five or six inversions
7-Flight of Fear: Word of caution...the line here is often over 60 minutes, and it's similar to it starts out so fast that I've often hit the back of my head and gotten quite jostled.
8-Congo Falls (This is a raft-ride with a 50 ft drop!)
9-Whitewater Raft...A cool raft ride
10-Tomb Raider: This ride is new and I haven't been on it yet.

There is also a bunch of rides better suited for kids (Like The Beastie!), but I haven't been on those.

I know you've got a Paramount pass, but Cedar Point is a far better park if you get the chance to ever visit Sandusky, Ohio
