I know! Our trip is in September and I am so excited, but I have to hang on to summer as long as I can because Ohio "Lake effect" winters are endless here in the "snowbelt". I never look forward to that. I'll take the heat of a lazy summer afternoon any day.

I would agree. I think staying at home is harder too. Although that first week back to work is always a doozy!

That's why I booked our trip so many months ago, we had the WORST winter! Now that we are in warmer weather, I am kicking myself a little...plus, I just realized that we will be gone during the Olympics!! I can't believe I did that! We usually go in fall and then come home all bummed to face the whole long winter. Most people around here go to FL in Mar and April. But Aug is the only time (besides Christmas) that I am off from school (nursing classes) at the same time the boys are.

I am super excited because I booked the trip so that my two younger boys and I stay an extra 4 days, making it 2 weeks total! DH and older DS had to get back by the 16th.
I just finished making my 4 yr old a countdown chainlink and hung it up on the stairs!!

How fun! I should make my husband a countdown chainlink. I need something to get him excited for our trip. He typically doesn't get excited until we are on our way to the airport.

Bummer about the Olympics! They are my obsession. 08.08.08. I suppose I should make myself a countdown for the Olympics as well.

My DH is the same, he doesn't want to know the details or help plan, but the day before he gets excited and is appreciative of going on vacation. If I didn't force him to take off, he'd never stop working!

I too love the Olympics, so that was really stupid on my part, even my family can't believe I planned a trip and will miss it. So I'm thinking how I can record certain events, I may have to rely on my 18 DS who is staying home, and that would be hard to trust he'd actually remember to record it!

Did somebody mention double digits?

Boogie.

It's for Disneyland, so technically not the right thread, but hey -- a Disney dance is a Disney dance. Sue me.
