Wondering if anyone has been involved in the Butterfly/Lady Bug Release Program?? I read about it in one of the guide books...just don't remember which one. I think it was in Epcot. Does WDW still do this program? If so, do you know if you have to make a reservation? And/or do they do it only at certain times of the year? We are going in mid May.

The butterfly/ladybug release is part of Epcot's annual Flower and Garden Festival, which this year runs from April 16 to June 6. There is an insect release every day of the Festival, as well as one themed weekend called "I Dig Bugs," during which there are several releases daily. In the past it's been the weekend after the Memorial Day weekend, but I haven't seen dates for 2004. Reservations aren't required.

Thanks Parkhopper, feel much better now. I mentioned it to our DS and he got so excited. Then I thought...utoh...what if they cancelled that too.

We'll be down there while the Festival is going on. Would I be able to find out more information on the Release Program somewhere? Or should I wait until we arrive and talk to Guest Relations?

We love Lady Bugs....they always seem to nest inside our house every year. Starting to find them as we speak.

Do you think they may post the schedule on WDW's website? Not sure which day we will be going to Epcot, but would like to know the time of the Release so we can be sure to get there in time. Or...you think Guest Relations will have info on it when we check in??

I just checked Disney's Web site. The "I Dig Bugs" weekend is scheduled for April 23, 24 and 25. I tried to provide you with a link to Disney's Flower and Garden Festival info page but the link keeps breaking. Here's a link to the main WDW page.
