When are Schools out??

We are going to Disney May 23-29. My son's last day of school is May 21 (in North Georgia).

Does anyone know when the Florida schools are out for the summer? Or any other schools? Just trying to get an idea of crowds.

When are schools out where you live?

Also, I saw somewhere that they sometimes have "graduate" nights in the MK where it is closed for all except seniors. Does anyone know anymore about this? Do they post this somewhere for the general public to know before tehy get there?

I read that the weekend before Memorial Day is very crowded. not sure about grad nite. Happy planning!

The last day of public school here in the tri-county Orlando area (Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties) is May 25. The final Disney Grad Nite of the season this year is May 1. Crowds definitely will begin increasing once school ends.

My mother and I one year made the mistake of going to AK the day after school closed in the Central Florida area. Big,big mistake!!! we'll never do that again unless we are meeting friends who have no choice but to go then.

We were there during a grad night last year. Not only were the kids at all the parks but also on our flight from Boston to Orlando. That was....interesting.:dazed

School in our Central Maine town does not get out until Mid June.

Hey Susan! What part of GA are you in? I'm also in Atl. metro area--Woodstock (Cherokee Co.). Our schools are out May 25. We have gone to Disney twice during the 2nd week of May. The crowds weren't too bad then. I know this is a little earlier than the time you're asking about so I'm not sure this info is helpful.

Down here in south florida (Broward county ) the last day is June 10th ( the day I am leaving for disney with my niece hopefully it wont bee too too crowded

We visited last May/June. May 26 (Memorial Day) being our 1st day in the park. Believe it or not, the parks were not too busy, waits were minimal and we did everything we wanted to do...the days following were just as nice, but the following Monday (our last day in the parks) was crazy. I will have to guess that you are going at the best time of the summer...it wasn't unbearable hot either!! Have fun & Best of luck! We're visiting over our spring break, so March will be a new experience for us.
