single day tickets

After much number crunching :dazed I think I decided that the best way to do park tickets was to buy single day tickets for our upcoming trip. We'll be at WDW for 2 nites and 3 (almost full) days. We figured out our itineraries and decided that we won't park hop, we won't go to water parks and will skip AK this time around. In the past I have already had park hopper tickets purchased ahead of time at the Disney Store. I feel a little uncomfortable going to WDW without tickets already in hand. I read on the mousavers website that you can purchase 3 days worth of single-park tickets all on the same day (to get a discount). Has anyone ever done this? Is it a problem to buy a ticket for MGM at MK to use the next day? Also, can you use debit/credit cards at ticket counter or just cash? Please let me know, as I stated before I'm a little nervous about showing up at the park without tickets already in my hand!

When I buy single day tickets I get them at the front desk when I check into the hotel...It is cheaper.

The kind of tickets you are talking about are the bounce-back tickets. They do not advertise them. You have to specifically ask for them at the ticket window. I would suggest that you think once again about buying the park hopper tickets, because if you know you will go again, they are an investment in your next trip.

I agree.... there are way too many "what ifīs" for me to choose the single park tickets over the hoppers.

I hope you are very sure of what you are doing because Iīd hate to have time left in the day and a whole park already done. I would feel like I spent too much on that day, but thatīs me.... and you can call me 'cheap'... hehe ;)

Are bounce-back tickets the same as the single day tickets? Also, can you purchase them at check-in at all the hotels? We'll be staying at POFQ.

I don't want to buy hopper tickets for more days than we will be there. I looked into 3 day hoppers, but I only found them thru Alamo and we aren't renting a car thru them so I don't want a hassle. Has anyone ever used them just for the tickets?

As far as "hoping I know what my plans are" We are traveling with a 3 yr old and 2 of the 3 days we will be there are travel days so I don't anticipate late nites at the parks.

Traveling with a three year old and being there only one full day changes the whole thing. If I were you, I would pick one park and focus on that one only, and spend the other two days maybe in one park one day or touring around Orlando - there are many things to see! Have a nice trip! :D

Tickets

I work for WDW and I am the person you would buy tickets from. You can buy a three day ticket to go to three different parks from the ticket window. It does have an expiration date which is why disney doesn't advertise it. You must use the ticket within 6 days from the date you purchase it. If you know that you are only going to do 3 parks during that time it will save you $10.60 off from buying the tickets individually. The disadvantage is that you cannot parkhop on the ticket, it is one park per day. If you come frequently to Disney it is to your advantage to purchase a 5 day park hopper or if you do the waterparks or pleasure island to purchase the 7day parkhopper plus as these seal in the price and never expire. It just depends on you finances and your vacation needs. We never try to sell you more than you want at WDW, our goal in our job is to make our ticket media fit YOUR needs, not ours.
Hope this helped!

Here's a link for ticket price comparison. Hope this helps!

btw, I've bought our tickets this way for our last trip. The 3-day, single park tickets. It's worth the savings to me/us. I never know when/if we'll be able to go back to WDW, so these are our best option. I'm sure it doesn't work for everyone, but thank goodness there's something out there for the po' folk. ;)

Thanks for all of your help. Price was definately an issue when deciding what to do, but I did get a little nervous about not be able to park hop. The 3 day hopper tickets with Alamo aren't that much more $ than the single park tickets so I decided to go thru Alamo. When I called the phone # they did ask if I had a reservation with Alamo. Although I don't I do however with National (their sister company) so I had no problem.

Thanks again for your help!
