A mushy story...

Once, I took my two kids to WDW two days before my husband could join us. It was a really big deal, because we ALWAYS go together. It's a tradition! Anyway, when we walked through the gate at MK, the Brer animals were signing autographs, the flowers were blooming, and the smell of popcorn and cookies was drifting through the air... It was such an emotional moment, knowing that Main Street was just through the tunnel! So I called my husband at work. Just to say hi. And at the very moment that I told him where we were standing and how much we missed him, the train went by and dramatically blew its whistle, really loud. There was a pause on the phone, and my hubby said, "OK, that's it. I am going to the airport. I'll be there this afternoon!" and he did. With the clothes on his back and a bag of golf clubs. I don't think I have ever loved him more than I did the minute I saw him walk into the lobby, ready to hug his kids and be in the Disney spirit!
Hope you all are married (or will be married) to someone who shares your love of WDW!

I'm jealous that your husband can just leave his office like that and still have an office to come back to! :) Geesh, if only I or DBF were in that position! :) It's actually sad the number of times these past few weeks we've said let's get on a plane and go to Florida -- But we can't. :(

Sorry Amneris! Believe me, this was a once in a lifetime event, hubby leaving the office like that. But it was a really memorable (and charmingly childish!) gesture, and worth all the heat he took when he got back to the office! Hope that helps!

Oh wow - I got all teared up reading that. My husband is the reason I actually love Disney.

We've got something kind of similar that we are in the middle of. I'm in the middle of a lot of medical tests and was facing radiation or surgery (for a benign tumor.) Every day, it's up or down for me, and although I'm trying really hard to keep up my spirits, it's the fact that I can't plan a trip to Disney that's got me down (to say nothing of going bald!!.) DH asked for the longest possible down time, and when he found out it's around Thanksgiving, called his Mom down in Florida and planned for us all to go to Florida to spend time with the family and go to Disney. I know it's not quite spur of the moment, but I'm the planner in this family and for him to do this to put a smile on my face is tremendously wonderful, and gives me somthing happy to look forward to.

OK, I'm crying again...

MickeyMac, don't you worry one bit about that hair, it will grow back in no time. Hair is so small an issue when you think about what you do have, obviously a hubby that knows exactly what to do to perk you up. A WDW trip is the perfect prescription. You just make sure you take care of yourself, we like having you around here to play with us. :D

MissDisney, that is a very cool story. I can only imagine how hard it was for your hubby to let you guys leave for WDW without him in the first place. That train whislte was the last straw. Very cool story. Thanks for sharing. :D

My DH loves me enough to agree to join the DVC!

MickeyMac,
Now you can wear those ears all the time! There is the Christmas hat with ears, regular hat with ears, then there are all those other characters, like goofy, pluto, etc. :)

You are in my prayers :)
