Kiss Goodnight! Ceremony

I saw somewhere something about a "Kiss Goodnight! Ceremony" in The Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know what this is, when it is held, where, etc?

I have never heard of it before today.

Thanks!

I've never heard of this before either. Where did you hear about it? It sounds very interesting.

It is at the MK after the fireworks. It is how they finally get everyone out of the park. LOL The castle is changing color and Mickey, I think, thanks everyone for coming to MK, etc. etc. I am pretty sure it was mentioned in someone's trip report. Try doing a search to find the exact thread as I am sure there would be more info there! Hope this helps...at least a little! :)

the Good Night Kiss is a play of lights (more than just changing colors) over the Castle at the Magic Kingdom, about an hour to an hour and a half after park closing. Jiminy Cricket comes on the speakers and thanks Cast and crew and Guests for spending time with the magic of Disney, etc. Most of the folks miss it, as they are either gone, or finishing up their shopping. The CM I learned it from said it was something for mostly for the Cast Members, as a 'thank you.'

It's wonderful and neat and very private, and I've got goosebumps just remembering it.

Wow, I'm almost always there at closing, no matter what park I'm at, so I guess I've just missed it. I guess I could have been on a ride or something. Can you only hear it around the castle and down Main St? How long have they been doing this?

DisneyHog, it's not right at closing and the rides are long over when it's playing - it's about an hour to an hour and a half after the park is closed, which is why most people miss it. They've been doing it for years.

A lot of people believe the changing castle colors at closing is the kiss goodnight, but that's not even half of it. The little show lasts maybe a couple of minutes, but it's all Disney magic.

Will they let you stay in the park to see it?

Oh, ok, I misunderstood. It's an hour and a half after park closing. Now I got ya. It's very possible that I've been in the MK when this would be playing cause I do like to stay until they drag me out, but I would probably have been in one of the stores on Main St. I'll have to try to catch this sometime. Thanks for the info MM. As always, you're right on top of it. :)

Susan, yes, they will, but expect to see a beehive of cleaning activity around you.

DisneyHog, that's so sweet of you - on top of things like Tink on the Castle, huh? (now I've got nice imagery in my mind. :D )

MM, that was awesome. Very good imagery. I seem to remember in another post you saying you didn't have a very good imigination. I think you just blew that theory out of the water. YOU ROCK!!! :D
