Sea Gulls at the Parks

Never before have we seen so many Sea Gulls as we when we were there the 8/13 !! I sure do not remember seeing any when we went before. so I wondered if it was because it was March.. we have never been any earlier then late April before. I hate Sea Gulls ..they are such nasty birds !!

Tink,

The first time I ever noticed those nasty gulls was back in Dec 2000. They were REALLY BAD. In June of 2002 and June 2003 they were gone!!! I was so glad...I wondered how in the world disney got rid of them....but after this trip, I realized that they seem to be there only in the winter/early spring because I have never seen them any other time of the year.

They seem to really fly around the popcorn areas...they seem to be the worst. My hubby luckily avoided them this trip :p

Well they sure had it in for Our Barbie .. she got pooped on more then once .. we were teasing her that they were all out to get her for something .. We saw them dive bomb someone carrying a tray of french fries , while we were waiting on the Cinderalle Suprise show.
We have never seen them before this trip either. So they must really be on winter vacation :laugh

The only place I ever noticed them was the Boardwalk. And the ones there are very brave, and not the least bit afraid of people.

Those seagulls were UNAVOIDABLE last year when i interned. (Jan-may 03) I was Quick Service food and beverage so I saw their havoc first hand.

I worked at Plaza Pavilion in TM in MK, outdoor eating area. They would swoop down and steal WHOLE PIZZAS, I kid you not. Granted, the pizzas were only about seven inches but they were thick too. Chicken fingers, too. One kid started crying because a gull took a breadstick right out of his hand, so we gave him a Mickey bar.

Part of the problem is that guests are simply stupid. No offense to anyone out there, but the sign that says "Please do not feed the birds" is there for a reason. I'd have to tell guests verbally not to do this, and they'd look at me like I was ruining their magic! Truly, these birds find enough food without you feeling pity for them. :p

By the way, if you ever eat at PP during daylight, sit as far away from the railings as possible. I know the view is better on the outside, but you could lose food, hats, cameras or very small children. :laugh

They had dispensers with food for the fish at WL. They looked like gumball machines. I would assume they have others like this around the world.

I know there were those machines on Tom Sawyer's Island and I think there were some on that wooden walk way over in frontierland.. I remember them because of the girls wanting money for them ..ooo yes and there is one across from Big thunder mt. ... I know for a fact that one is there because I gave Barbie money for it so she could feed the ducks when were were there
