thrill rides

I have a question that is hopefully not too dumb......but my wife and I would like to go on some thrill rides when we are at the parks, but we will have our two year old with us who obviously can't go on them.......

I was told that on certain rides we can wait in line together, then when we get up to the front, we can take turns, ie. I go on the ride, while my wife and daughter wait......then when I get off, my wife goes for a ride while I wait with my daughter? Does that make sense? And if so, what is the exact procedure so I don't look like a complete dope when I try to do it.... Also, how would it work with a fast pass, if differently at all?

thanks :)

I have never done it, but I believe there is something called 'child swap pass'. I assume it works something on the order of what you already said. If anyone knows more about this, please answer. Have a Magical vacation!! :D :) Joe

You're talking about the "baby swap". Get in line and when you get up to the attraction just tell the CM standing there that you want to do the baby swap. It may be a little different with some attractions, but the CM will tell you exactly what to do. It's not hard and not a dumb question.;)

We did this last week when my sister's joined us at the parks. The easiest way is to walk up to the fast pass entrance, where the CM looks at your Fast Pass so that you can enter, and ask him for a baby swap ticket. All three of you will need to be there. One of you waits in line, while the other sits with baby (or goes on other rides). Then you swap.

You could also just get a fast pass for each of you, that would be a bit quicker.

Thanks.....I like the Fast Pass idea. I might get the fast pass and just ask the CM after we get it how it would work. I mean, I don't want to be selfish, but I want to go on some wild rides too...not just It's a Small World (not to knock it) lol.......

thank you all for the replies....

I've used the child swap once - with Tower of Terror (I couldn't convince my 3 year old to go on again). We went right to the elevators and told them. I went on the ride, while my wife went through a passage to the exit. I met up after the ride, and she went back through to the elevator and got on the next one.

Lucky her - she got 4 extra "bounces" while I only got one.

Just ask the first Cast Member (Disneyspeak for employee) you see at the attraction and they'll tell you what to do. They get this question many, many times a day and they'll treat you well.

Yes, for the baby swap, you wait in the regular line for the first group, while one of you keep the child. Then the child holder is allowed to go right to the front of the line to ride instead of waiting in line again. The cool thing about the baby swap, is, say for example there are 4 adults, plus your little one in your group. You, your wife, two other adults, and your child. When you go to ride, obviously, you would take the other adults with you because you don't want to ride alone, right? Well, the same goes for your wife when she rides. Your other family members are allowed to ride with the second person as well so that they don't have to ride alone. So it's kinda like a bonus ride for the others in your group. The baby swap works very smoothly on fastpass attractions. You just go up to the cast member at the fastpass entrance and they will give you fastpass tickets that say "baby swap, child swap," etc on them. It's really very convenient. :)

man, i just can't wait. I am so pumped to go on these rides, sure we have cedar point down the way, but that is mostly roller coasters and disney has so much more than that..........
