Character hunt

Has anyone ever just started out the day and decided to call the day character hunt day? This is something we sometimes do on or last day. We have a blast just park hoping and tracking down characters. Of course the rides may slow us down a little when we get sidetracked This can be very spontaneous and fun.Tina

Sounds like it could be fun. I fear that I'm probably way to anal about how we organize our park touring to be that spontaneous and enjoy it!

That sounds like something fun to do on a much longer trip.

when my DD was a little more into the characters, we would sometimes spend a bit of time "character hopping" to see how many we could find. She still enjoys them, but doesn't do it as a sport now...:laugh We still see them, but spontaneously in between rides. Hunting for them can be fun and I sometimes long for the days of her getting truely excited when she sees them. Now, it's only certain characters that she wants to see.

The hunt that me and my ol lady enjoy doing is the pressed pennies. We bought the little book holder for them and spent the entire day getting pennies pressed. Its lots of fun and there are tons of them spread through out the parks. (Hint) go to City Hall on Main St. and they will give you a list of which pennies and where they are located.

"Free-range Mickey" sightings

I love the pressed pennies, and I didn't know there is a book to put them in! My kids are too big for characters now (although an actual Mickey sighting is always a thrill -- by that, I mean a sighting that isn't in the Toontown Fair area, where you are guaranteed to see him.) We like the "free-range Mickey" sightings!

Razorbrad isn't joking, they did spend an entire day looking for the penny presses. :laugh I think they are pretty cool too. I've got a few of them, but man, they jumped right in and got just about all of them.

I'm 29, and I still love looking for the characters. I can't say that I've ever dedicated an entire day to looking for them, but I do my best to meet and get my picture with as many as I can each trip.

My youngest child is 15. I'm the one who likes the character hunts. I think my enthusiasm rubs off on her occasionally I like to believe life after childhood is so full of responsibility you have to find a balance. The day you totally lose that child is the day you become a unhappy adult.Tina
