Any Ideas???

In exactly two weeks I will be on my 11th trip to Disney World. As many times as I have been, I still have some questions. This year as we all know is the Magical Gatherings theme and how ironic it was that this past summer my brother and I were reunited after twelve years (its a long story, he's the only blood sibling i have and vise versa for him, we have the same father, different moms, dad staying in touch with me not him, he stayed with his mom in ri i stayed with mine in ma, dad lives in nc now, i moved when i was younger we couldnt find each other) anyways, i guess dad wanted to make it up to us by buying us a trip to disney and how great it is that magical gatherings theme is this year! so here i am going to the greatest place ever, and with my brother who now is my best friend and i just want this to be the best trip ever for him. I am 20 he is gonna be 16 this year, our parents arent going just us. ive been 10 times he has been 1. Anything special we should do? We already have written down things we must do and made dinner reservations for the crystal palace and chef mickey's. Please let me know of any tours or anything we should try out, I just want this to be the best trip ever for the both of us.

Let him pick things to do. Since its his first time , let him experience things in his own way. You can still give advice, but dont rush him so he doesnt have the chance to soak in the "Magic." I did the same thing with ,my "special" lady last year, and she had a blast.

How wonderful that you and your brother are going to WDW!! I'd suggets that you guys do the Keys to the Kingdom tour together. It's a backstage tour of the Magic Kingdom.

What a cool story. I really hope the two of you have a great time. I think RAZORBRAD had a good point. Don't feel like you have to see everything and miss out on the magic. Take your time, and let the special magic of WDW soak in. Also, if you're staying at a WDW resort, I'm sure if you called in advance, and told them of your special situation, they could have a little something special waiting in the room for your brother.

One very important thing though. Both of you have to get Mickey ears with your names embroidered in the back, and you have to wear them the whole time you're in the parks together. Those pics will be great momentos later. ;)

Be The Ultimate Tour Guide

That is a great story.

I've had issues with my brother in the past and I remember how great it was when we got past it. I'm happy for you. :D

Buy him the Fodor's guide and tell him to read it and let him ask you questions about your experiences on the rides that intrigue him the most.

At your age, it would also be cool to see if you guys can do Disney "Commando Style" :bandit and see how many rides you can do in one day, how many parks, etc.

It's guaranteed to be a blast.

:-)

an Idea?

May I also suggest you two go to the sports cafe at the Wide World of Sports. (no admission to WWoS is necessary) Perhaps you and your brother can watch basketball or NFLEL or something together while muching nachos and burgers n stuff.

you could also go to the ESPN club at the Boardwalk. I suggest playing a little golf if that's your thing. But I say pace yourself at the parks. Do some of your favorites, let him pick some rides, and then sit down and have a drink or some grub. Maybe a water park or a trip to Pleasure Island. I hope that you two have fun at WDW:)

you've GOT to get the 'screaming our heads off' picture at the bottom of Splash Mountain - that's going to be a family treasure. :D

Since he's sixteen, have you thought of going to DisneyQuest, in Downtown Disney?

Try to relax and have fun. Catch up on things while waiting in line. This is a great way and great time to get to know each other.
I definitely think you guys should take the photos that you can and give them to your dad as a souvenir or thank you.
Try not to get on each other's nerves too much.
Parks might be crowded, but the hours are going to be later - try riding some of the rides at night.
Most important, don't forget to let us know how things were.
Have fun!:)

If I can offer anything, it's keep your eyes and ears open for that Magical Moment. It may happen in a queue, in an attraction or while running across the fountain at Marketplace (remind me to post THAT picture).

I'm sure you know that this is the place where things like this happen.

It sounds like you've already got some plans - after that, just have fun, and let the magic happen...

...of course, repeated rides on Buzz Lightyear to see who kicks robot butt never hurts either.
