Lunch..

Hi, we are going down for a day trip and will be at MK on Monday. Was wondering if we should do something nice for lunch inside park? Any suggestions?

I'd say go to Crystal Palace for lunch. The food there is really good.

It depends on how much you want to spend. If money doesn't matter, then Crystal Palace is probably a good bet. If you're looking at trying to spend a little less dough, try Cosmic Rays. They have really good food, and it's about the best prices you're gonna find on WDW property.

Crystal Palace but you need to call and make a PS. This is a very busy time at WDW and they may be full for that day.

There really aren't meaning dining options in the MK -- everything is "counter service". With the exceptions of the Crystal Palace (but isn't that always a Winnie the Pooh character meals whenever it serves?), the Plaza (not the ice cream take out window part)(serves just sandwiches mainly), Tonys (an actual restaurant) and Cinderella's castle (a nice restaurant - but you will HAVE to call for PSs for lunch and they may not be any spots avialbe). Did I forget anyplace? So really, that comes down to Tonys of the castle for a place to have a nice lunch.

Liberty Tree Tavern serves a sit-down lunch. So there are five table service restaurants in the MK to choose from in addition to a variety of counter service restaurants.

The bigger counter service choices are Cosmic Ray's (Tomorrowland), Pecos Bill's (Frontierland), Columbia Harbour House (Liberty Square) , and Geppetto's (Fantasyland).

Seems like plenty of options for everybody.

I've heard the Liberty Tree is really good, although I've never been there myself.

We had lunch there and it was quite nice. Have never been to the character dinner but have heard that the food is very good, and plentiful.

CP if you really want nice. But if your mood changes from nice to let's just eat lunch, I always like to have lunch at El Pirata y el Perico at least once per trip. I just love their nachos with hot peppers.

El Pirata y el Perico has been closed since at least last fall. I have not heard that it has been reopened.

My Mother-in-law is a manager in Adventureland, and when I was there last October, she said they have put El Pirata on a seasonal opening, sorta like CoP and Timekeeper. I missed out on my favorite taco salad last October because of this. :(

This may sound weird but sometimes it is nice to take a break and take the boat over to the campground and have the buffet. It is so peaceful there.

Geppetto's has a nice view of small world and has cheap food. If you want to go to a more expensive kind of place Tonys is excellent
