Illuminations Boat Tour

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has rented the boat from which you view Illuminations. I believe there is one that holds up to 8 people and I think it costs around $200+. Is it worth it? Are you engulfed in smoke? I've read somewhere that it was hard to see. I am thinking that you could see Illuminations without using a park ticket then. Is that correct?

My family did an IllumiNations cruise in July. It was so wonderful we plan to do another one this July. We had a wonderful view and smoke wasn't a problem for us. However, we did have a little ash fall on us, it wasn't bad and didn't bother us in any way.

The cost was $120 plus a tip for the driver. The pontoon boats hold 10-12 people.
