What would you suggest???

I am planning to go to WDW on July 18.........I know its smack in the middle of the summer but it was the only time I could go that my roommate would be out of school and doesn't have things planned with her family.

But I was wondering if I push back my WDW trip two weeks(that would make it about August 1st) would that be better with the crowds and such or would it not matter??? I decided to go when I did because my family and I went the same week and didn't face HORRIBLE crowds or anything........but then again it was four years ago. I have planned this for a LONG time already but then came across some great forums and books that made me reconsider.

What would you suggest????

Summer is always crowded, so just go at the most convenient time for you both and plan on taking a little extra time to get everything done! Just be up a little earlier, stay up a little later, and enjoy standing in lines for just a few minutes longer... remember, wherever you are right now, wouldn't you trade it for standing in a line at WDW? It's not that bad!

I think the closer you get to August/September, the better. It can't hurt anyway to avoid the middle of Summer.

But really, it's up to you! Good luck! Either way, at least you get to go to WDW! :D

We went last year in Mid-July. It wasn't that bad. Surprisingly if you don't go to the park that opens early that day, you skip mid afternoon and stay late, it isn't that crowded. The only day that I've ever left due to a crowd was July 4th. What a zoo?
Have a wonderful trip.

July or August. Doesn't matter crowd wise. It will be a bit hot and a bit crowded, but you will have extended park hours. If you plan accordingly, then you will have a great time. Have a definate plan of attack for touring.

I went down to Wdw last august with my Gf, Aug 7-12 actually.
It wasn't as bad as I thought, so maybe pushing it back a week or two isn't so bad.
The closer you get to the end of august the less crowded.
Like I said I was there the 1st week of august and aside from ToT and RnR we didn't wait in lines for more than 45 min and even those attractions weren't really an hour wait.
We never got to do TT though, but if thats not going 101 it's always crowded. Then again Mission space goes 101 all the time and we still got on in 30 min.

I agree. There really isn't going to be much of a crowd difference in the middle of July, and the first of August. Crowds stay pretty packed until around Labor Day, but then the hours are cut too. Really, with the extended park hours, it makes up for the crowds. Plus, they also do Wishes, and SpectoMagic twice a night, so you can always see attractions during one, and see the other showing. Other parks typically have trends too. At Epcot, skip Future World early and head straight to World Showcase. Future World tends to be less crowded at night, but if you have time, go back to WS after dark, cause the atmosphere there at night is so cool. The music playing, the torches burning, I just love it. MGM tends to ease up a bit an hour or two before closing too, so that is usually a good time to hit ToT and RnRC. AK closes around dusk anyway, so it doesn't matter there. Have a great trip, regardless of when you go. WDW is awesome, no matter what. :)

My best friend and I went to WDW for high school graduation and we were there about the third week of July, crowds weren't too bad (they were worse than we had experienced in the past, but not as bad as we had anticipated. I have a picture of EPCOT was taken at about 12:30 or 1:00 on a Saturday and the park was this empty. I hope you enjoy your trip!:)

We went in August of 2003 and really the crowds were not all that bad. The heat was nothing worse then what we deal with in texas. Mornings and Evenings are good ..a break during the heat of the day for a rest is always a wise thing to do

Crowds

I agree there isn't much difference crowd wise with the middle of July or first of August. I am not sure how much you can base the attendance the last few years though with the decline in the attendance overall and the uncertainty of the world events. We were there in the summer of 2001 and again in 2003 and noticed that the crowds were still there but not the unbearable crowds as post 9/11. Not sure what this summer will hold but we will see soon.

Never been there in July or August... but if it is as crowded as in Christmas and New year... believe me, you will have wanted to make it as people say mid August... :)
