Ellen's Adventure - Too Loud?

Does anyone agree with me that Ellen's Adventure is a wee bit over the top in terms of volume?

That was perhaps my biggest frustration when we visited last year.

I actually winced a few times during the "big bang" scene in the movie and wondered if anyone else felt the same thing? Also, does anyone know of a good way to raise this concern to the folks at Disney?

I agree, Matt. It is very loud, esp in the big bang. My kids always hold their ears right before that scene!

I am partially deaf in my right ear,so I don't think the sound is too loud.

I agree, it is loud, but I love it. I'm a big fan of surround sound (you should be at my house during a NASCAR race :D ) so I'm very impressed with the sound system they have at UoE. It's crystal clear...

Can you please tell me what leads up to the moment when your kids know to cover their ears? Our son will definately appreciate any tips "tipping him off" to be prepared. Thanks.

Warning signs

It's when Bill and Ellen are waiting for the big bang and Ellen appears to be very eager to see what's going to happen and Bill gets very nervous....

there's a sufficient amount of buildup where you know something is going to happen.

I also thought it was too loud in the summer of 2002, that is why I skipped it last summer. Also, as long as we're on the subject, I do not think Ellen would be Walt's choice as hostess for any of his shows.

Personal lifestyle issues aside...

I think Ellen's pretty cool. Her talkshow is great and I think the movie with her and Bill was quite good.

I think it more scary than loud. The only place it loud is at the end and then it not that loud.

Re: big bang

Billy Nye gives Ellen ear protector headphone to wear and two flashlights with cones on them that light up. Bill leaves, and Ellen's there against a black screen "directing" the big bang in like you think of people doing with planes on a runway at an aiprort. I think she even says something like you're clear to land. And then suddenly the big band DOES happen. So you'll have your ears covered in anticipation for a bit, but it's a very clear scene to know when to get prepared. :)

I LOVE the Ellen ride and am shaking in fear that unlike Space Mt. they won't get another sponser and they'll take the ride away! :'(

We agree, we think Ellen and Bill are great in their parts, this is one of, if not our favorite ride. We went on it 3 times last spring.
