[15 mins to wdw]

for a couple of hours today the MK closed and its rummored that the AK closed, I know the MK closed becuase I tried to get in, I didn't try the AK. Epcot was useing more then the normal 4 parking lot sections when I got there as well, I've only seen that at christmas. from some CM friends of mine they have been told to expect closing crowds all week and are guessing tuesday may go to 3 closed parks!!!!!!! although they did not say what 3 parks.

Is this a late April Fool's joke? Why would they be closing the parks so early?

I think this thread is about the parks closing because the parks reached peak capacity. Once the guest level reaches a certain level Disney closes the parks to new guests. However, if you are staying in a WDW resort you are still allowed in.

Actually, there is a point when even resort guests can't get in unless someone exits. This happened over Christmas. Once they reach capacity they will shut the gates until a good many people have exited. They will let resort guests before anyone else when this does happen. Just get there early!

I think it must be some kind of break because my boss just took off for two weeks with some combination of his kids in college and kid in high school accompanying him during part/all of that time. (Yeah, I really got those specifics nailed down, huh? ;) )

I have been twice during our spring break and the crowds were as bad as summer, but not that awful! We usually have an early spring break though.

I have never heard of the parks closing except at Christmas. That is amazing!!!!!!

In Florida (at least all the schools in Broward, dade, monroe) this is spring break for high school and elementary schools. I believe it's this way for the majority of the state. There were special notations on WDW.com the last few times I was there for this week. Just special deals and stuff. But due to the fact that millions of kids are out of school this week, there should be huge crowds.

Our schools in Worcester, PA (Norristown) are closed this week and our good friends in North Jersey are leaving Fri, 4/9 for a week. Their schools are closed next week. We told them that they were crazy for going this time of year, but it didn't seem to bother them.
