Fantasmic! w/o the package??

So, how tough is it to get into the Fantasmic show without doing the package?

We are not fans of waiting in lines for hours.

Could we just walk up 15 minutes before showtime and hope for a seat??

Thanks!!

Buzz,
You can try going in 15 min before, but I really do not reccommend it. I've gone in even an hour before and 75% of the theater was full. If you don't want to wait in lines or for hours get the package!
Fantasmic is an awsome show and it's [b]VERY[/] popular. I can't stress how popular it is. If you try and wait 15 min before the theater might even be too crowded to go in.
Better to just have dinner and walk right up, that way you dont have to worry about a snack before the show either. Talk about a horrible line. I salute all the cm's that work the snack bar at fantasmic!

We just spent several evenings at MGM, and we saw plenty of people getting settled for the fireworks an hour and a half before the show!!!

Buzz, obviously, it pretty much depends on the time of year as to how crowded Fantasmic gets. Even so, living so close, DW and I usually decide to go to Fantasmic on the spur of the moment. We arrive 30 minutes before the start of the show and have never, ever had a problem getting a seat.

You will be able to get a seat, but it will be WAY out there if you go in a crowded time of the year. I definately reccomend getting a package and just going up 30min before the show. You have to eat anyway right? Just my opinion. You can do it either way. There really isn't a bad seat in the house for that show.

I have always, except for this New Year's Eve,gone to Fantasmic without the package, because I like to sit right at the top in the center. If the CM gives me grief about sitting there,I just say,"Sorry,I'm not climbing down all those steps with no railing,"and just sit down, and have never been asked to move. If I get the package,I'm not entitled to use my Disney Dining Discount,so I don't do the package.

Thanks for the replies.

I forgot to mention.....I had the dinner package at H & V, but we recently switched our vacation week and when I went to reschedule the PS they have not ONE available time for us to do the dinner pakage at ANY of the three places, for the entire week!!

In a way it works out cause we really want to eat at the 50's Prime Time. But we'll do anything "legal" to avoid long lines and waits.

We plan on watching the show on May 27th. Guess we'll show up a half hour before showtime and hope for the best.
Wish us luck!!

Thanks again!!

If nothing less, would you be able to stand in the back and watch the show???? I would rather stand for 25 minutes and watch the show then stand for 90 minutes to sit for a 25 minute show....:dazed

We went to Fantasmic last Wednesday for the 8:30 show. We left MK at about 6:30 and got to MGM by 7pm via WDW bus transportation. We went straight to the show, got into the third section, if you count the sections as you enter the theatre. Seats were awesome! The theatre filled quickly and several people were not admitted and had to wait for the next show. But we did not mind waiting about 70 mins for the show. The time really went fast! And it was worth the wait!

We have a Fantasmic Dinner Package for end of May and noticed there are two showings that night. I am assuming you can choose either show to attend? And, if you go to the first is it possible you could be turned away because of too many people and have to attend the later show?

Hey Buzz,

We've done Fantasmic with and without the package. The last time (last week), we did it without and I was miserable. I know it was spring break, but we stood in a very crowded line for more than 1/2 hour before we were let in. That doesn't sound like too much, I know, but after a long day at the parks, it's just not that appealing to me.

Like Dana said, "you gotta eat anyway." I think we'll probably do the package from now on.

And I do believe that if there are two shows, the second one is usually less crowded!

Keep calling to check for a PS. From what I understand, if there are alot of bookings, they sometimes add later times you can have dinner with the package. Usually you have to eat at around 4, but because there are two shows and the package booked so fast, they added more dinner times for the package for this Thursday. We will be eating at 6:30 for the 8:30 Fantasmic dinner package at H & V. Just a thought! Good luck!!

The last time we were there, 1999, we got stuck in the TTC and wound up at Epcot since we missed the show. I cried almost all night, it was our last night there. When we booked our trip this time, the first thing my DH wanted me to do was book the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I am glad I did. Good luck!!
