Hi everyone... bear with me a few minutes longer... I know I have posted so much since I got back from WDW that I am sick of seeing my own screenname all over the place, so I am sure I know how y'all feel! HOWEVER, I wanted to add just a couple of thoughts:
First, at EC, there was so much star jasmine planted in huge clusters around the lagoon that the breeze would carry that amazing smell all around you, no matter where in the park you went. Especially at dusk, when the breeze picked up a bit, the entire park smelled incredible, and it still is bringing tears of happiness to my eyes.
Second, I've been to MGM so many times. But never at night. MGM is incredible at night, and everyone should make it part of their trip. The lights and the darkness are so luxurious. And the park clears out for fireworks, and you feel like you want to hide in the bushes and live there.
And third, the turkey legs at Frontierland, the cinnamon rolls at Tusker House in AK and the pretzel rolls fresh out of the Biergarten oven are fabulous. The food in my fridge can't compare.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
I talked to many CMs about moving there and getting jobs, etc... it was interesting and seems pretty do-able. I will post about it later, when everyone isn't so sick of seeing MISSDISNEY all over the place.

Hey Dana... you caught me in the middle of a massive user-failure! I was always better with paper and pen (chisel and hammer?)

Hey, I'm not sick of seeing your name all over! (Heaven knows people ought to be sick of mine by now! :laugh)

Thanks for posting...I really like how you described EC & the Studios...it makes it almost like I can reach out and touch the Magic! I agree about the Studios at night, how after the park has cleared out you just want to hide in the bushes and live there! I've thought that on more than one occasion!

How great would that be?? Just rent a room in the Hollywood Tower Hotel and stay the night. ;)

Okay, so that might be a little freaky...:nervous

I have never done MGM at night. You made it sound wonderful. Hope we can try it next time we are there. :)

Miss Disney,

As a former Studios cast member who got to close the park almost every time I worked, I couldn't agree more with your assessment of the Studios at night. I think its beauty at night often gets overlooked thanks to the obvious prettiness of the Main Street lights in the Magic Kingdomm, which I also love. Some of my most favorite moments in the Studios came at night when I was either working at one of the merchandise carts by the Chinese Theater and the crowds were very light with everyone headed to or already inside at Fantasmic. I would stand out there at the cart, with the spotlights streaming from behind the theater and the Hollywood themed music playing in the background. It was great. Glad you enjoyed it too!

Karen, You're a girl after my own heart, and I am so jealous of you getting to work at MGM and especially at night! Wow... you have a way with words, as well! I feel like I am there again!

MGM & Fireworks / what about dinner?

Is there a good place to eat Dinner at MGM without ressies?

If we go to MGM at night, it will be on a Sunday. Are Sunday nights generally very quiet?

Hey Matt, you can go to the commisary between the Chinese Theater and Star Tours, or you can go to the food court area on the way to Tower of Terror... there you find TURKEY LEGS (yum!!!), as well as pizza, fruit, salads, etc. Lots of tables and great people-watching!

I love the food stands along Sunset Boulevard - yum!! And often you can get into Mama Melrose's back near NY Street without priority seating, it tends to be less crowded then some of the other restaurants!

Ah, how I miss my Studios days!!

In the late 80's and early 90's when my DD's were still in school we would go to WDW in July, at that time there was no Fantasmic (sp), there was a fireworks show every night at MGM. It was staged from the top of the Chinese theater and we used to get our spot on the pavement right in front of the theater (there was no hat then) and watch the fireworks. My point being when it was over and you looked around, MGM is very beautiful at night!!! And by the way, to finish the fireworks show, a giant Mickey would appear on top of the theater and fireworks would come out of his finger!!! Joe
