I have made yet another revision to the list of character meals for my Disney theme park resort. As you should already know, I have a 2 theme-park resort that's roughly somewhere in between DLR and WDW in terms of size, activities, and overall experience. WDW has 10 character breakfasts (9 daily and 1 at the Swan & Dolphin on Saturdays and Sundays), plus another character breakfast at Tony's, for Magical Gatherings groups (8 or more guests) only; 5 character lunches, and 8 character dinners (7 if you don't include Mickey's Backyard BBQ). Disneyland Resort has 4 character breakfasts, 2 character lunches, and 2 character dinners. Therefore, I thought the best number of character meals for my park resort should be roughly in between the number of DLR and WDW's. I used a new method this time to caculate the number of character meals; by adding the number of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners from both WDW and DLR and dividing them by 2. This gives us 7 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 5 dinners!

Unless otherwise indicated, all characters appear in the restaurants dining hall, stopping by the guests tables. In case it seems that I have too many characters doing the rounds in the dining hall, keep in mind that Disneyland's character meals have 7-8 characters, on an average doing rounds in the dining halls of the restaurants, as opposed to 4-5 at WDW's character meals.
Here is the list of character meals in my Disney theme park resort:

MAGIC KINGDOM:

Crystal Palace:
Similar to its Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland counterparts, The Crystal Palace is a buffet restaurant offering character meals at Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner; featuring characters from Winnie the Pooh, along with special guests for each meal!

Breakfast: Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and the Three Little Pigs; Fifer Pig, Fiddler Pig, and Practical Pig

Lunch: Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Koda, and Kenai (from Brother Bear)

Dinner: Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Lilo and Stitch

The Crystal Palace is located on Main Street, USA at the corner of Main Street and the central hub. Despite its Main Street, USA location, Crystal Palace can also be entered from Adventureland in the back! This would give guests the best of both "lands", since WDW's Crystal Palace can only be entered from Main Street and Tokyo's only from Adventureland!

Global Grill: Located inside the Earth: Land and Sea pavillion in Discoveryland, Global Grill holds a character lunch from 11:30am to 4:00pm, plus an Ice Cream Social held at 3:00pm, 3:15pm, and 3:30pm.

Lunch is served family-style, with a menu similar to Garden Grill's character meals. Characters include Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Clarabelle, Horace Horsecollar, Chip and Dale.

Liberty Tree Tavern: Similar to its WDW counterpart, Liberty Tree Tavern is located on Liberty Street (part of Main Street, USA), and offers character dining at Dinner. Guests are joined by Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Meeko, Chip and Dale.

Lumière's: Located on the second floor of Beauty and the Beast Castle, Lumière's hosts a character breakfast similar to the one held at Cinderella's Royal Table in WDW's Magic Kingdom.

Belle (in her yellow ballroom gown) and Vincent (Belle's prince, after transformation from the Beast), appear in the restaurant's lobby downstairs. Inside the dining hall upstairs, characters include Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Jasmine, and Peter Pan.

DISNEY STUDIOS:

Hollywood & Vine:
Similar to its Disney-MGM counterpart at WDW, Hollywood & Vine holds character meals at breakfast from 8:00am to 11:15am and lunch from 11:45am to 3:00pm.

Breakfast: Mickey (in a movie director's outfit, which can be seen in the Disney-MGM section of Birnbaum's Official Guide to WDW), Minnie (in a Classic Hollywood starlet outfit), Goofy (in a gangster outfit), Pluto, CLARICE CHIPMUNK!, Chip and Dale (also both wearing gangster outfits) doing rounds at the guests tables in the dining hall; along with JoJo and Goliath, who greet guests in the restaurant's lobby.

Lunch: Mickey (in his director's outfit), Donald, Minnie, Daisy (both wearing Classic Hollywood Starlet Outfits), Goofy (in a gangster outfit), Chip and Dale do the rounds in the dining hall; while Belle (in her blue house dress) and the Beast greet guests in the restaurant's lobby.

Soundstage Restaurant: Much like the former Soundstage Restaurant at Disney-MGM in Orlando, this restaurant is loosely themed to a movie wrap party. Soundstage Restaurant offers Character Breakfast every morning from 8:00am to 11:30am.

Characters include Quasimodo (the Hunchback) and Esmerelda (in the restaurant's lobby); Ariel (as a human, with legs!), Lilo, Stitch, Hercules, Meg, Mushu the Dragon, and Mulan (in the dining hall, circulating the guests' tables).

DISNEYLAND HOTEL

1900 Park Faire:

Breakfast: Mary Poppins and Bert (in the restaurant's lobby); Alice, Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, Pinocchio, Pooh, Tigger, and Rabbit (from Winnie the Pooh) in the dining hall, circulating the guests' tables

Afternoon Tea: This is a children's activity session as well for children 3-11 years old, much like the Wonderland Tea Party at WDW's 1900 Park Faire. Characters include Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the White Rabbit

Dinner: Jiminy Cricket and the Fairy Godmother (in the lobby); Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy, Perla, Pinocchio, Geppetto, and Aladdin (in the dining hall).

DISNEY'S CONTEMPORARY HOTEL

Chef Mickey's:

Breakfast: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale (in the dining hall); along with Daisy and Scrooge McDuck, who greet guests in the lobby near the buffet bars.

Dinner: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Max, Pluto, Chip & Dale (in the dining hall); along with Donald and CLARA CLUCK!, the star of Donald's very first cartoon, The Wise Little Hen (1934), who greet guests in the restaurant's lobby!!!!!

DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD HOTEL:

Roger's Buffeteria:
Themed to the 1988 movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Roger's Buffeteria features character dining at Breakfast and Dinner, where Roger is joined by a wide variety of his Disney friends!

Breakfast: Roger, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Max, Rafiki, and Timon (in the dining hall); along with Darkwing Duck and Launchpad McQuack, who greet guests in the lobby.

Dinner: Roger, Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Peter Pan, and Wendy; along with Snow White and Dopey, who greet guests in the lobby.

If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please feel free to post!

Re: My proposal for a new Disney theme park resort

I’m all for a Disney theme park in Texas. My family would have AP for sure. Just don’t plan for it to be in "Tornado Alley". I’m use to evacuating for Hurricanes, even had extensive damages from Rita last year, but I'm not going anywhere again where we are under tornado allerts the entire time I'm on vacation.

Actually, Walt Disney Imagineering NEVER takes ideas from the general public, due to potential lawsuits and legalities. It would be great if Disney actually did build this, but if/when that actually happens remains to be seen!

Re: My proposal for a new Disney theme park resort

I wish that they would make a park, or a special section that housed the attractions that have been replaced or done away with. It would be nice to ride World of Motion again, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea or even Mr. Toad. It can be called Disney World's Nostalgic Magic or something like that.

Re: My proposal for a new Disney theme park resort

Kent -

I've read some of this thread but not all of it. I think you've got an incredible imagination and some wonderful ideas.

I don't know if anyone brought it up, but I wanted to comment on your restaurant on Pocahontas Island. You mention that you want to have it as more of a "regular" restaurant as opposed to a snack bar.

Having worked on Tom Sawyer's Island at DL (many years ago...) I can tell you that you do not want to have a full-service restaurant on an island, unless you've got a tunnel to connect it to the rest of the backstage areas of the park, large enough to drive at least a small pickup through.

A full-service restaurant needs too much stuff behind the scenes, including food prep areas and food and other goods' storage. All that stuff needs to be hauled in, usually by truck, and needs to be accessible to be supplied during the day if necessary without seriously disrupting the show for the guests. It's one thing to take the occasional hand-cart with a couple of cases of soda and a tub of cookies, if necessary, on the raft over to the island, but another thing to have to commandeer a raft just to run over some emergency supplies because your refrigerator went out and you need to restock it.

Anyway, keep up the good work and I hope to get back and finish reading all the wonderful ideas on this thread.
