I have been working on a proposal for a brand new Disney theme park on WDWMagic's Imagineer board http://forums.wdwmagic.com . Although I haven't come up with a location for it, likely areas would be in the central U.S. (perhaps Texas or Oklahoma, due to warmer climates), or possibly even Hawaii. I design this as a U.S. theme park, due to familiarity with the culture, and since it would be nice to have another Disney theme park in the U.S. somewhere! Disney currently has theme parks in Orlando (WDW); Anaheim, CA (Disneyland); Tokyo; Paris; and a 5th is currently under construction in Hong Kong. Also, Disney is considering a 6th theme park near Shanghai, China; just 550 miles from Hong Kong!

Unfortunately, this is not an actual proposal Disney is planning-- just a project I have been working on for the WDWMagic Imagineer forum. Many others have been doing such proposals on their own as well on the Imagineer board. Since DisneyCentral has nothing like this, I decided to post it here to see what kind of feedback I would get, since this appears to be the most frequented forum on DisneyCentral.

Now, onto my theme park. My proposed Disney theme park resort sits on 1200 acres of land-- about 3-4 times the size of Disneyland's (Anaheim) property, but only an insect compared to the massive 27,000+ acres Walt Disney World covers. As of opening day (or at least shortly afterward), this Disney theme park resort will consist of two theme parks; The Magic Kingdom, and Disney Studios (name of park's location); four hotels, plus a campground; a Downtown Disney retail and entertainment district; a golf course; and possibly a water park as well. Here is my list of attractions for each theme park. Rides/attractions denoted by (FP) used the FastPass service:


THE MAGIC KINGDOM


Main Street, USA

Rides and Attractions:

1.) City Hall
2.) The Disney Gallery: This is very much like Main Street Gallery at WDW's MK and Town Square Exhibition Hall; displaing various Disney exhibits and artifacts.
3.) Disneyland Railroad
4.) Fire Station: The Fire Station will have an antique fire engine and full line of Firefighter equipment. IIRC, WDW's MK took their fire engine out and much of the equipment to make way for 101 Dalmations and Mickey Firefighter merchandise to be sold. To maintain the fire engine and all equipment; the 101 Dalmations and Mickey Firefighter merchandise will be sold in the Toontown Fire Station, which I will get to a bit later on.

5.) Main Street Bank: which offers currency exchange, Disney Dollars, and Disney Vacation Club Services and information.
6.) Main Street Cinema: which will run various Disney cartoons and well as old silent movies!
7.) Main Street Vehicles
8.) Penny Arcade
9.) The Walt Disney Story

Liberty Street (part of Main Street, USA)

Liberty Street is a short side street off of Main Street between Town Square and the lower, right-hand block of Main Street. This is basically an abbreviated version of Liberty Square, but with less of a Colonial/Revolutionary America theme and more of a generalized Americana theme which will blend in with Main Street, USA's theming. Liberty Street was originally planned by Walt Disney himself for Disneyland as far back as 1957! However, it was never built, and eventually evolved into Liberty Square at WDW's Magic Kingdom.

Rides and Attractions:
1.) The Hall of Presidents
2.) Liberty Bell Replica: This is a replica of the Liberty Bell much like the one WDW has in Liberty Square.
3.) Liberty Tree
4.) Statue of Liberty Miniature Replica: This is a much scaled-down replica of the Statue of Liberty.

1.) Liberty Tree Tavern
2.) Sleppy Hollow

1.) An unnamed candle shop (can anyone come up with an appropriate name?)

Adventureland

Rides and Attractions:

1.) Adventureland Theatre: which presents a multi-character show with characters, scenes, and musical numbers from Disney cartoons such as The Lion King, Tarzan, and The Jungle Book
2.) Enchanted Tiki Room: This show will probably be more like Disneyland's (Anaheim) show, but more up-to-date and with newer characters. Many believed that the "Under New Management" show had a weak storyline compared to the original, and has been known to frighten younger children.

3.) Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Crystal Skull (FP)
4.) Jungle Cruise (FP)
5.) Magic Carpets of Aladdin
6.) Tarzan's Treehouse

Food & Restaurants:

2.) Crystal Palace Restaurant: Depsite being located at the corner of Main Street and the hub, The Crystal Palace can also be entered from Adventureland in the back. Crystal Palace is a buffet restaurant offering character dining at Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Guests are joined by Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit, and Eeyore at all 3 meals!

4.) The Skipper's Galley

Carribean Plaza (part of Adventureland)

Like its counterpart at WDW's Magic Kingdom, Carribean Plaza is a section of Adventureland themed to a Carribean colonial settlement. Unlike WDW's CP architecture (which has a Carribean Fort-like design), this park's Carribean Plaza will be modeled after New Orleans Square at Disneyland, since much of New Orleans's architecture has roots in the Carribean!

Rides and Attractions:

1.) The Haunted Mansion (FP)
2.) Pirates of the Carribean (FP): which will be designed similar to Disneyland's POTC ride, considered far superior to WDW's version and runs for about 14 minutes (as opposed to 9 minutes at WDW's ride).

2.) Café Orléans
3.) Le Petite Patisserie
4.) Mint Julep Bar
5.) Royal Street Veranda

Last but not least, Adventureland's Carribean Plaza also includes Club 33, a members-only club/restaurant, similar to Club 33 at Disneyland's in New Orleans Square. This park's Club 33 will also be larger than Disneyland's to accomodate more members!

Themed to Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, and the gang; Laughing place features a southern-style/Soul Food menu; for example, Fried Chicken, Catfish, Collard Greens, Cornbread, Fried Green Tomatoes, etc. Laughing Place serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner; and is the only table-service restaurant in Critter Country.

4.) Rackety's Racoon Saloon

Discoveryland

Discoveryland is basically the same as Tomorrowland, with a dash of EPCOT and more staying power, since the Tomorrowland concept often has been in need of updating! In fact, the name Discoveryland is used at Disneyland Paris for Tomorrowland.

Rides and Attractions:

1.) Astro-Orbiter
2.) Autopia (FP): which will have a track design much like Disneyland's Autopia, but with wider lanes like WDW's Indy Speedway.
3.) Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (FP)
4.) Cosmic Waves
5.) Discoveryland PeopleMover
6.) Discoveryland Theatre
7.) The Earth: This is a completely original attraction, which gives guests a visual and interactive journey through the Earth's wonders, with an emphasis on people and animals' relationship with the Earth on which they live. The Earth is somewhat like EPCOT's The Land, but with little or no emphasis on food! Among the attractions inside the pavillion include, just to name a few:
a.) Behind the Seeds (or something similar), possibly with a new name.
b.) Circle of Life: This may be the same show seen at EPCOT's The Land, but I thought its enviromentalist theme would fit The Earth quite well!
c.) The Earth Ride: This is a mechanical ride which goes into The Earth's theming. I may include a few features of Journey to the Center of the Earth (at Tokyo DisneySea) into this ride.
d.) a multi-story rain forest habitat; which includes exotic plants, birds, small animals, waterfalls, and large elaborate rock formations!

8.) Imageworks, featuring Honey I Shrunk the Audience: This is basically a smaller, scaled-down version of what can be found at the Journey Into Imagination area at EPCOT, with some of the same attractions as well as many original ones. In addition to HISTA, here are a couple of attractions included here:
a.) Stepping Tones: Since this is a favorite at EPCOT, I decided to throw this in as well!
b.) The Rainbow Corridor: This is an attraction I always wanted to see, but never will since it was recently taken out at EPCOT's Imageworks, IIRC! :( :madmad :cry:

9.) Innoventions: Like Imageworks, Innoventions is basically a scaled-down version of what can be found at EPCOT.
10.) The Living Seas: which includes
a.) Carribean Coral Reef Ride (no longer at EPCOT!)
b.) Sea Base Alpha
11.) Space Mountain (FP)
12.) Stitch's Great Escape
13.) The Timekeeper

2.) Beauty and the Beast Castle: This was determined by a poll I conducted on WDWMagic's Imagineer forum. My first choice was Cinderella's Castle, but many thought it was too similar to WDW's castle, especially given the standpoint I designed this as a U.S. park. Beauty and the Beast Castle will have a design similar to Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris, but with a few differences, such as the domed ballroom on the left-hand side of the castle used in Beauty and the Beast (1991).
3.) Beauty and the Beast dark ride: This is entered from inside the castle, and located in the ballroom under the domed rotunda.

4.) Casey Jr. Circus Train: Similar to Disneyland's (Anaheim) train, but with rooftop covers on the open-air cars. Also, the animal cage cars will be larger and less confining, to allow much more comfortable riding for adults, especially large adults!

5.) Cinderella's Golden Carrousel
6.) Dumbo the Flying Elephant
7.) Fairytale Gardens: where Princess Storytelling is held.
8.) Fantasyland Theatre
9.) it's a small world: This ride's exterior will be designed similar to Disneyland's; with the ticking clock, spinning mechanisms, and the march of children on the hour! However, the boats will be larger much like WDW's, and the waiting area and boat waterway will have a canopy over it, with the same striped color scheme as the tent-like structure on the entrance area of WDW's ride. Therefore, we will have a tribute to IASW at both existing U.S. parks!

10.) Mad Tea Party: Similar to WDW's ride, but with a stylized glass roof over the ride, to keep rain out but allow more sunlight in; to give it a "sunnier" and lighter look than WDW's ride!
11.) Matterhorn Bobsleds (FP)
12.) Mickey Mouse Revue
13.) Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
14.) The Old Mill Ferris Wheel: Basically, this is a ferris wheel shaped like a windmill, themed from the 1937 Silly Symphony cartoon The Old Mill.
15.) Peter Pan's Flight (FP)
16.) Pinocchio's Daring Journey
17.) Sleeping Beauty dark ride
18.) Snow White's Adventures: This will probably be the most different of the dark rides in my park, since this version of Snow White will focus more on the story of Snow White and Snow White herself, rather than the Witch. Also, instead of handing the poisoned apple to the riders, the Witch hands it to Snow White. This version will be MUCH less intimidating to younger children than WDW and Disneyland's versions; the scenes where the Queen turns into the Witch and where the Witch hands Snow White the apple might unnerve some younger children, but this ride will be nowhere nearly as terrifying as the other park's Snow White rides, as well as focusing on the character of Snow White!

19.) Storybook Land Canal Boats

Food & Restaurants:

1.) Captain Hook's Codfish & Chips: which is modeled after a British fish & chips spot, with a Captain Hook/Peter Pan theme!
2.) Lumière's: This is the castle's restaurant, similar to Cinderella's Royal Table at WDW's Magic Kingdom, located on the castle's 2nd floor. Lumière's also features a character breakfast each morning; in which guests are joined inside the dining hall by Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Jasmine, and Peter Pan. In addition, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) greets guests in the lobby.

3.) Mrs. Potts' Cupboard: located on the 1st floor of the castle, right by the castle's entrance into Fantasyland.
4.) Pinocchio's Village Haus: Like its Disneyland and WDW counterparts, Pinocchio's Village Haus is a fast-food type restaurant; serving hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, personal pizzas, and grilled turkey sandwiches.

6.) Scuttle's Landing
7.) The Old Mill Snack Corner
8.) Toad Hall Refreshments

Shops:

1.) Belle's Gallery: located inside the castle
2.) Fantasy Faire Gifts
3.) The Glas Slipper: which sells glass items as well as various Cinderella-themed merchandise. The Glass Slipper also features glass-blowing, which is demonstrated for the guests by talented glass-blowers as they sculpt their glass structures.

4.) Heraldry Shop: located inside the castle.
5.) it's a small world toy shop
6.) Le Petit Chalet Gifts: located at the base of the Matterhorn
7.) Merlin's Magic Shop
8.) Seven Dwarfs Mining Company

10.) 3 Faries Toys & Gifts: This shop is named for the 3 good faries from Sleeping Beauty; Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather; and features a wide variety of items, including a full line of toys and gifts from Disney's animated film Sleeping Beauty.

Frontierland

Rides & Attractions:

1.) Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (FP)
2.) Diamond Horseshoe Saloon, presenting Diamond Horseshoe Saloon Revue: which is a Western-style saloon show, complete with Can-Can dancers!
3.) Fantasmic!: Like Disneyland's Fantasmic! show, this will be presented on the Rivers of America, complete with the Peter Pan segment on the Sailing Ship Columbia and the grand finale with all the characters from the show on the Riverboat, doubling as the Steamboat Willie! However, Fantasmic! will have a stadium-like seating area in front of the stage like Disney-MGM's Fantasmic, giving guests the best of both worlds!

6.) Frontierland Shootin' Arcade
7.) Legends of the Old West
8.) Rafts to Pocahontas Island

Pocahontas Island (part of Frontierland):

Pocahontas Island is the big island surrounded by the Rivers of America. Since both Disneyland and WDW's Magic Kingdom both have Tom Sawyer Island, I decided on something different. Pocahontas Island is themed to the 1995 Disney feature film.

Attractions:

a.) 17th Century Jamestown Settlement re-creation
b.) Enchanted Glade Forest Exploration Area, complete with a talking Grandmother Willow tree!
c.) Indian Village: which includes the Ceremonial Dance Circle; where REAL Indians/Native Americans demonstrate their native dances for the guests!
d.) Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends stage show

Last but not least, Pocahontas Island includes a "meet & greet" area; where Pocahontas, John Smith, meeko, and Governor Ratcliffe greet guests!

Food & Restaurants:

1.) Enchanted Glade: This is a snack stand by the Enchanted Glade Forest.
2.) John Smith's Landing: This is the Pocahontas Island restaurant, much like Aunt Polly's Dockside Inn is to Tom Sawyer Island at WDW's Magic Kingdom. The menu, although not yet established, will be more like that of a regular restaurant, as opposed to Aunt Polly's-- which seems to serve primarily snack-type foods such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pickles, cookies, and ice cream.

Shops:

1.) Indian Trading Post: which is located in the Pocahontas Island Indian Village.


Mickey's Toontown:

Rides & Attractions:

1.) Chip & Dale's Treehouse
2.) Donald's Boat: This boat sits on real water, not a blue plastic pad used at Disneyland and WDW's Magic Kingdom!
3.) Goofy's Barnstormer: located at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm, and actually has live plants growing under it!
4.) Goofy's Gas
5.) Jolly Trolley
6.) Mickey's House
7.) Mickey's Movie Barn: which consists of The Prop Department, stocked with various props and costumes from Mickey's cartoons; The Screening Room, where Mickey's cartoons are screened; as well as the Soundstage Room, where Mickey meets and greets guests, complete with photo and autograph opportunities! This is basically the same as its Disneyland counterpart, and can only be entered from Mickey's House.

8.) Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin (FP)
9.) Scrooge McDuck's Money Bin: This is a play area based on Scrooge McDuck's immense money bin!
10.) Toontown City Hall: This is primarily a character greeting area, with three rooms where various Disney characters meet and greet guests!
11.) Toontown Courthouse, featuring Roger Rabbit's Courtroom: This is a 3-D CGI cartoon much like Mickey's Philharmagic, but with an interactive twist, in which Roger is the judge, Goofy is the baliff, and YOU in the audience are the jury!!!!!

12.) Toontown Post Office: where various Disney characters have their own post offices, in which they can be heard speaking as their mailboxes are opened!
13.) Toontown Theatre, presenting Mickey's Toontown Show: This show is a lively musical comedy much like the former Mickey's Starland Show, which ran at WDW's Magic Kingdom from the late 1980's to the early 1990's.

Food & Restaurants:

1.) Clarabelle's Frozen Yogurt
2.) Daisy's Snack Wagon
3.) Dinghy Drinks
4.) Goofy's Free-Z-Time: Located in a vacation trailer on Goofy's Wiseacre Farm by the Barnstormer, Goofy's Free-Z-Time dispenses large frozen slurpy drinks.
5.) Huey, Dewey, and Louie's Goodtime Café
6.) Mickey's Trailer
7.) Pluto's Dog House: similar to its Disneyland counterpart, but housed in a separate building shaped like a dog house! Pluto's Dog House serves hot dogs, chicken nuggets, french fries, and Pluto's Crispie Treats (which are basically Rice Krispies treats shaped like dog bones).
8.) Toon Pop: serving both regular and caramel-flavored popcorn.
9.) Toon Up Treats (located inside Goofy's Gas)

Shops:

2.) Toontown Delivery Company
3.) Toontown 5 and Dime
4.) Toontown Fire Station: which sells a wide variety of Mickey Mouse Firefighter sovenirs and 101 Dalmations merchandise.


PARADES:

1.) Afternoon Parade: Not sure, even though I am kind of partial to the snowglobes at the Share a Dream Come True parade at WDW's MK, and I have no idea what parade Disneyland runs during the afternoon. However, I'm sure that this parade will be something entirely different anyway!

The climate is really nice, there is plenty of land available at a good price, several big airports and most of all, a ton of opportunities for naturally occurring water! Just a thought...

so I am guessing that would be a .bmp file. I believe (but could be wrong ) that you must post it as a .jpg or .gif file .. and if I remember right that program only saves as a .bmp. if you would like I can change it to a .jpg if you cant .. you can email it to me at tinkwelch@msn.com

I did convert it to a .jpg, long before I ever posted it. Possibly my file is too large. The filesize of the attachment I was trying to post is 25.1K, 58.7K and the dimensions are 791 X 1024. Can anyone help me with this?

Yeah, I can help you out. I had to resize several of my photos in order to post them on here. I had to import them into a photo program and resize them and compress the .jpg file file smaller. If you would like I can do this for you and either ship it back to you or post it on here for you. You can send it to me if you would like at lawwin@charter.net and I would be happy to help you out.

By the way, I love all your ideas. It is a terrific way to incorporate the old ideas of Disney with the ideas from the newer parks. I think they are wonderful and you can tell that you have put a great deal of thought and consideration in to this plan, and I really hope that that the imagineers at disney are listening to your every word and find somewhere to put this wonderful park.

I liked the idea that Disney mentioned a few years ago for a historic themed park in VA., but I'm a histroy buff, and that idea was not nearly as thought out as yours is.
