Wonders of Life? Closed? Seasonal?

Is the Wonders of Life being phased out completely? What about Body Wars? (we love that ride)

What does "seasonal" mean and is there a schedule of when it will be open/closed?

Personally, I think Wonders of Life was a good idea, although perhaps a little misguided. It's too much like a "please touch" museum. Body Wars was a great concept. It's too bad that they couldn't have been a little more creative in capturing people's attention.

I don't understand this either. When I was there last week, the Wonders of Life was closed but the Carousel of Progress (also seasonal) was open! Since I was there right after the Peak season ended, I figured they'd either both be open or they'd both be closed.

I haven't heard any rumors of plans to scrap Wonders of Life or Body Wars. Other than the vague "open during peak seasons," there's no schedule that I know of that lists when "seasonal" attractions will be open. I think it pretty much boils down to whenever Disney decides to spend the extra money to staff the attraction.

Hi,

I've read that WOL will be open to take some of the crowd away from other attractions in Peak Times. It's sad. And they've changed Pure & Simple entirely. Used to be able to get waffles with the fruit, etc. Now I guess they have beer and cheeseburgers. Not so Pure & Simple.

The reason CoP is open is due to the lack of a "show" since AE is being refurbished. As soon as S:GE is open CoP will be back to seasonal.

There is no schedule for seasonal attractions as it stands as Park Hopper stated. When seasonal attractions are usually open is when a greater attraction is being refurbished, as with the case of CoP and AE. Also during winter holidays. I remember TK and CoP both open in TL during thanksgiving and X-mas week, no other times.

Yes they have changed P&S, but not to burgers and brews. The WoL Pavillion will be even more pure and simple as it will only operate the attractions. From what I've gathered merchandise and quick service F&B have been removed completely from the pavillion. So when it does open only the attractions will be up. Kinda a waste if you ask me, since I liked body wars!

Re: Wonders of Life? Closed? Seasonal?

I guess I am in the minority, but Body Wars and the entire WOL pavillion never interested me. As Matt said, I think the basic concept was a good idea but what they originally presented and, of course, what is there now... - just not up to Disney snuff, in my opinion. That is one section of EPCOT that I will not mind seeing re-done.

I liked Body Wars too. Kinda like Star Tours but inside the body. To bad they don't bring back the original Figment. But then I liked WOM more than Test Track and Horizons more than Mission:Space.

You read my mind on that one, I can barely remember World or Motion or Horizons, but they were classic Disney dark rides. TT and M:S are fun and thrilling but I do miss the old ones. Yes Dreamfinder needs to come back (I barely remember him too!), at least figment is back in the imagination pavillion, as opposed to that earlier crap that they tried to do at the imagination institute!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses World of Motion.

I love the historical aspects of Epcot and while the thrill rides are cool... I dunno. Maybe I'm just a geek.

I really miss Horizons as well. While I think they could have done more with it, it was good. It's funny, Horizons was the one pavillion that best represented Walt's vision for what Epcot was supposed to be: dreaming about the future. SE does that to a certain degree, taking us through time and into the future, but Horizons did a better job at showing us the possibilities of tomorrow.

I could see this thread turning into a rant about Epcot. Sometimes, I think that Disney is losing it's edge and that the vision of Epcot is being clouded by the so-called competition from Sea World and Universal.

I LIKE PIXIE DUST! I LIKE LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE! There's a reason I haven't been to the other places in nearly 10 years.

Excellent point. Seems the "new generation" of visitors want "thrill" rides. I'd like to think that they can go to other parks for that, but that WDW is different. I guess they need a few thrill rides, but I don't want to see the entire park turn into that some day.
