Yes, I think that this is great! We will be there from May 15-20 and I can't wait to "test" this program. We don't move too fast in the morning while on vacation, so this will be perfect!

Hey yall,
I just found out about it from the thread, so I thought I'd dig up some info for ya!

Admittance: From May 9 through May 22, the Extra Magic Hour schedule will allow Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resorts time in our Theme Parks in both the early morning and evening.

Morning Extra Magic Hour occurs one hour prior to regularly scheduled Park opening and Guests will need to present a valid Key to the World Card at the park's turnstiles.

Resort Guests wishing to enjoy Evening Extra Magic Hours should obtain a wristband at one of the following by presenting a valid Key to the World Card:

At the Main Entrance turnstile no sooner than three hours prior to Park close
At select locations throughout the park no sooner than two hours prior to Park close

Offerings by Day of Week (May 9-22)

Sunday - Epcot (evening)
Monday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (morning)
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios (evening)
Wednesday - Epcot (morning); Magic Kingdom (evening)
Thursday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (evening)
Friday - Magic Kingdom (morning)
Saturday - Disney-MGM Studios (morning)

1. Why are we adjusting the Extra Magic Hour Schedule?

As part of our continuous improvement efforts at the Walt Disney World Resort, from May 9 through May 22 we will test varying the current Extra Magic Hour schedule to include time in both the early morning and evening. Many Guests told us that they wished they had the opportunity to enjoy this benefit in the evening, as well as in the morning hours.

2. Will the morning and evening experiences be the same?

No. The attractions available during the morning and evening Extra Magic Hours offerings will be slightly different based on the number of Guests we anticipate attending each event.

This is realy messes up my schedule as I planned a lot of our days using the EMH in the morning, well I guess this does mean we can sleep a lil later now!

Oooooohhhh, this would be so awesome!!! :heart :heart :heart

PLEASE tell me they're going to start doing this permanently? I was so sad when they took away EMH, and the thought of them bringing it back and doing some in the *evenings* is AWESOME!!! I am a night owl, and there's nothing I hate more than having to leave the park at 6 o'clock. :(

Well Tink,
the testing is in may due to the average crowds so its easier to run a test. The crowds of the summer sometimes arent manageable.
I'm not going to say it won't become permanent, but as we all know Disney does LOTS of tests before anything becomes official.
AS a business though, I don't think EMH would continue during the summer evenings, just because of e-ride nights.
I mean for guests it would be great to have the EMH at night.
On the other hand if wdw can get people to pay for that time, well you know how that goes.
Thats what I think about it, but I could be wrong.
Then again it's a management decision, so guests or money?? Who do you think will win??
I sure am a grumpy cm lately, I need to stop being sick!

hey its a way to fill resorts .. extra incentive to stay on-site. Ok so I would stay on-site anyway ..but they could get those that never stay on-site with this.. so it would be a money decision dont you think??
I dont get the E-tickets ..we did it one year ..but it was too much more extra that could have been spent on stuff like t-shirts *grin*. and besides isnt E-ticket nights only for MK and not the other parks?

I am so excited about this. I hope it becomes permanent. We are early birds, but it would be nice to make a switch to a night owl while on vacation.

We'll be there from 5/12-5/22/04 and looking forward to try it. My DH is not an early bird on vacation, so this will be great!

Re: Testing of Extra Magic Hours in May

I have never understood e-ride nights. I mean in theory I do, but as stated it's only for MK. To be honest I would love e-ride to be at MGM, so I could ride ToT and RnRC over and over and over!!!!
I think it is extra incentive for those who never stay on site, still there are always those that will stay off. Its just better in my eyes that WDW is doing this, since rooms onsite and ticket prices are so much its a little way to give back.
The only thing I am having problems with (only because I'm going on vaca in may) is the fireworks and shows. If there was another one scheduled for those that take advantage of EMH thats fine. I need to make PS but I have to schedule them before the nightly shows since after the shows most restaurants are closed. I know I know, it seems nit picky.
I think it's great and should become permanent, but WDW will prob test this a couple more times, another time in the summer, as to when, I don't know.

I hope they continue this into June when I will be there. Let me know how it works.

Thanks!
