Epcot's Ice Station Cool

Ice Station Cool (that little Coca-Cola sponsored igloo by the Epcot fountains near Innoventions West) is really great. You enter through a snow-blown ice cave and end up in a room filled with soda fountains that offer any number of cola drinks from around the world. You take tiny little cups and try as many as you like! It is a nice break from the heat and it is FUN! Well, some of the drinks are very, very horrible (Italy's is especially icky). However, the one called Lychee Mello (can't remember from which country it is from) is so delicious that I am thinking about it right now and how great it would be to have a case in my basement....

Re: Epcot's Ice Station Cool

Lychee drink?? Well my mom said she got that growing up in Thailand, and if I remember right from both the Coke place in ATL and Ice station cool in EC it is from Thailand.
My faves were the apple drink and the watermellon one. Yes Italy was nasty, wasn't it like really rank ginger ale?? Also the veggie tasting one wasnt that good either. Have they changed the offerings lately?? I noticed last year that one of the flavors had been blanked out, did they ever replace it?
Its just weird how some cultures find some drinks tasty and others dont. I often wonder why we don't have some of those beverages here, since I really did like the apple flavored soda. I'm just really glad they didn't have fish flavored soda to sample, cause I'm pretty sure Japan has some!

The nastiest flavor is the Beverly flavor. The looks on people's faces when they taste it for the first time are priceless!!!!!

Oh Tom, you and your pins, WTG though!! I used to buy pins off ebay, but now I have to save up, so I cant :( Oh well I'll be in wdw in 19 days so all my hard earned money will be spent on CM exclusive pins! OK well maybe not that many..... Just have to remind myself I have to buy College program merchandise for my fellow campus reps at school too....

Re: Epcot's Ice Station Cool

I always pretend to like the "Beverly" and tell some poor unsuspecting soul that it's the best one. One time I got this woman from CA to try it, she told me that she shouldn't have trusted someone with a Southern accent. We both got a good laugh though.

It is a nice break from the heat. The watermelon one is my favorite, really.

Leave it to us southerners to love the watermelon flavor! lol
Funny thing is, the water melon soda from Winn-Dixie doesn't taste as good as the one at Ice station cool!?!?

Ice station cool is on the right side of the giant fountain in Epcot, if you're on the left you'll see mouse gears. You can't miss it, its a glacier looking thing with a snow plow tractor thing in front of it. Gotta forgive me, the south doesn't have snow so I don't know what it is. Also you can't miss the poor CM wearing the heavy snow parka in the Fla Sun!

Seriously, I don't get it...my best friend falls for the "Beverly" trick every time! I'm like, "oooh, here, try this one! It's awesome!" And she takes a big ol' swig EVERY TIME!!! LOL

But sssshhhh, don't spill the beans on this one! I'm taking Ryan for the first time this Fall, and I'm gonna make sure he gets a good taste of Beverly!

Come to think of it, I've done the same thing and it's always a kick!

Re: Epcot's Ice Station Cool

The apple drink is from Mexico, I think, and it is good! The wtermelon is also good, and the ginger ale (I think it may be from Germany?) is a nice ginger ale. They never replaced the missing soda, though...
About the pins... How long do you wait for pins to arrive from ebay sellers? I just bought pins from 4 people on 4/11 and 4/12... I paid by check. I was hoping to get all the pins soon. P.S. I found the BTMRR pin that we searched for at every park, every day! Yay! I got it for $7.75, not much more than if we had bought it at a shop!

Re: Epcot's Ice Station Cool

I didn't realize that this was a permanent exhibit when we saw it last year.

It was 92+ every day last year, so walking through the ice tunnel was awesome!

I liked the one from Israel. It wasn't sweet. I can't remember what it was called.

Re: Epcot's Ice Station Cool

I tried to fool my DH by tricking him into trying Beverly but it didn't work because after I tasted it I made a horrible face. But watch out this December! I will get him to try it! I have a friend that works for Coke in Atl, GA He said he would talk to a distributer and get a whole case. (I told him it was wonderful!) No word on when they will come in. I will be sure to send them to you all since it is DC's favorite!!!
