How crowded is it in October?

I was wondering how the crowds were in October. We are going the 9th thru the 16th. Last year we went in September and it was not crowded at all we did not have to use fast passes for anything. We walked right on just about anything we wanted to ride. The only thing was it was still quite hot temperature wise so we thought we would try October this year. Somebody said that with a golf tournament and the food and wine festival going on that it would be very crowded. We were wondering what all you Disney experts thought.

Last October was more crowded than any other October that I can remember. I can remember large crowds from the UK. We were there for the food and wine festival and the Mickey not so scarry. Epcot was the most crowded at night because the other parks close earlier. The weather is wonderful in October it is still warm but not that I am :mickey going to melt heat.

IT was a family tradition for us to go in October for years, but over the last 5 we have found ourselves going in either Nov. or Jan. October events bring in crowds, but they are nothing like SPring or Summer. I always recommend the first or second week of November as they crowds are small. The weather is also a little cooler then. Light jacket in the morning with the shorts and t-shirt for the rest of the day.

I agree, november is a perfect time to go if your not so into the hot weather and plus they have little crowds. The whole halloween thing attracts more people then it used to when we used to go in october. So i would suggest november rather then october

We went the week before the Halloween week (10/16-10/22 of 1999). It was great at that time, practically walked on all the rides. We even did RNRC 3 times in about 45 minutes. We've always gone in October, since we've been married and loved it. Don't know the crowd situation over the past few years though. The weather was always perfect.

This time we trying May, a little nervous but we think we might have picked a good week.

We've went in October last year. It was a bit more crowded than when we went in Sept. 2002. However, the crowds were very reasonable. I love this time of year. It is warm but not hot, rains little and the crowds are very small.

October is nice!!! Only thing is , if you hit the holiday it will be more crowded than usual. Went in Oct. about 5 years ago, well, we hit the annoying rain from a hurricane. So, that 's another thing to think about.
Now, it seems we go in May, and Novemeber. Good times for us!!! Plus weather is usually great. Of course, in Nov. you can get some cool temps. I guess it all comes down to what works for you!!! Good Luck!!

I was there last October. It's a great time to go. The weather is good. You've got Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party (I would avoid going 10/31 plus I think you have get tix pretty far in advance).

It didn't seem that crowded to me this past Oct. If you've gone to WDW before and know your way around the parks, then you should be fine. Fastpass is perfect to get around the crowds.

Although sometimes it's great to have the crowds and people-watch...

we went last October, week of my birthday 10/16 and it was sort of crowded but not unbearable. I think it was so crowed because of the fairytale pkg Disney was offering at the time. We did MNSSHP and it is a must! The weather was nice and we had rain showers a couple of days. IMHO Oct is a great time to visit. Have fun!
