It just dawned on me that my trip in October will be our last Disney trip before the YoaMDs ends, that's if it really does end Dec 31st of this year like they said. I feel lucky because we've made 2 trips to Disneyland and like 4 trips to WDW during the celebration but I don't want it to end! It's been SO wonderful seeing everyone win great prizes from pins, to special experiences, to CASTLE & SUITE stays!

So, is there any buzz about what Disney is going to do with all these fantastically magical suites when the celebration ends? Cinderella's Castle Suite & the Disneyland Dream Suite are obviously the REAL magical ones but don't forget there is Mickey's Penthouse, and I think a special PotC suite in Disneyland also.

I REALLY REALLY would be so proud of Disney if they continued to give nightly stays away to random families, that's what I WANT to happen. Although, I could totally see them starting to charge or auction off nights, which unfortunately means that [surprise, surprise] only the rich & famous will ever see the inside of them after YoaMDs ends. I can only imagine how much it costs Disney to keep giving the nightly stays away for 'free' but MAN, I REALLY hope that's what they decide to do.

Any rumors, buzz, or thoughts on this?

They are going to let each MB family spend a week in the castle free of charge.

I was wondering about this too! I think they should continue to give the suite dreams away. Even if they stop doing the smaller dreams () after YOAMD ends, it seems like such a sad waste to think about those suites staying empty or being rented out only to people who can afford them.

Maybe Mickey, here on MB, should have another contest. I'm sure he has some kind of connections to get that to be a prize!!!

we saw a family in march that had won the night in the castle. They were at dinner at the castle, and the teenage girls in the group looked less than thrilled to be there. I kept thinking how much we would have appreciated it, and would not have a sourpuss look on our faces if we had won! I only hope that we get the chance again!

If you think about it, it's NOT FREE . . . you've already paid for the night at whatever resort you are staying at . . . I don't think they give you that money back for that night (or do they?) I hope they keep giving it away too . . . it would be sad if could only go to the rich and famous.

I'd rather see it keep being a give away dream, or even a make a wish night. VIP's have all the money and they can buy everything. This should be something they CANNOT buy.

I think with the huge success that YOAMD has been that they will continue it on. It's such a great marketing tool.

It will probably become an exclusive DVC.

I will have some info about this in my current TR, but I'm not up to that yet I was told during my private tour that several celebrities have begged to stay (and $millions have been offerred..) but because of gaming laws (YOMD is actually like a lottery) while the "contest" is going on, it cannot be sold to anyone.

It will undoublty go to those who can afford the extortionate prices they are bound to ask for it but it would be great if they kept giving it away as a dream to random families but I think money is more enticing than magic to those corporate types

Yeah, but once the "contest" ends I have a terrible feeling they'll opt to make $ off of it. Even if rules still restricted them from "selling" nights in the suites I could see some loophole being used. I wish I wasn't so pessamistic about the future of these suites I just feel like "giving it to families" forever would be a long shot.

During my last stay we asked about it. The concierge said , "Is there anything else I can do for you" Ofcourse we said, get us the room in the castle..or even let us check it out. She made a comment about having the money to stay there once it's all done and over with. I doubt the employees know for sure but hopefuly if that's how it goes, they only do it for a while and then let it be a little piece of magic too. I can see them trying to get these celeb types off thier backs.
Who knows, if we make enough noise about it, they'll take our advice and let the families keep getting their dreams, even if it is just a suite thing and not the whole YoaMD.
