The legendary Walt Disney Animation Studios lot in Burbank, California, has always been a place where pure magic happens—artists walk in, and beloved characters and timeless stories come out. Now, get ready to experience that exact same creative campus energy right here in Florida, because a major new animation-inspired expansion is heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning short film Once Upon A Studio, the reimagined Animation Courtyard is designed to make you feel like classic characters have leaped right off the screen and into our world. Drawing from the architecture and atmosphere of the historic studio lot, the updated area features wonderful touches like Pluto’s Corner, a relaxed park-like setting under lush trees, and plenty of hidden character surprises.
Join the Party at Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
While exploring the courtyard, families can still enjoy nearby favorites like “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” at the Studio Theater. Plus, the brand-new live show “Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!” is officially open and ready for guests!

Inspired by the hit Disney Jr. series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, this interactive production invites you to be part of the celebration. When Mickey and Minnie realize their friends are missing, the party turns into a fun-filled search mission where you get to clap, cheer, and dance along as Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Pluto join in on the fun.
The Magic of Disney Animation (Opening September 14)

Beginning September 14, a brand-new collection of experiences officially opens under the iconic Sorcerer Hat in the center of the courtyard. The building, inspired by the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, invites guests to explore different studio departments where characters have taken over to create unforgettable adventures.

Here is a look at what you can expect when you step inside:
“Drawn to Wonderland” Playground: Designed especially for younger guests, this immersive indoor playground is inspired by original Alice in Wonderland concept art by Disney Legend Mary Blair. Featuring bold colors, whimsical shapes, and playful spaces like the Mad Hatter’s house and the Cheshire Cat’s Tulgey Wood, it’s an active area for little ones to explore and play.

“Off the Page!” Character Encounters: Step into dedicated areas celebrating the artistry behind every frame. You can meet Mulan in the Story department in front of an oversized storyboard panel, or find Rapunzel in the Layout department surrounded by multiplane camera setups. Other beloved pals are stationed across different departments, including Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation, Donald and Daisy in Computer Animation, Goofy in Lighting, and Stitch in Effects!

“Olaf Draws!” Attraction: Join everyone’s favorite snowman as your cheerful companion for an all-new character drawing experience. Brought to life as an advanced Audio-Animatronics figure, Olaf sits at an animator’s desk and guides you step-by-step alongside tips from real Disney Animation artists. You might learn to sketch Mickey Mouse, Moana, Stitch, Genie, or even Olaf himself!

Once Upon A Studio Theater: Celebrate over a century of animation storytelling in a dedicated theater playing the award-winning short film Once Upon A Studio, enhanced with immersive wall projections and magical effects that make characters pop right out of the artwork.

Whether you’re brushing up on your drawing skills, discovering whimsical play areas, or meeting your favorite characters in studio departments, this upcoming addition is shaping up to be an absolute must-do for animation fans of all ages.
